You may know the story by now. In February 2013, Sony revealed the PlayStation 4 and announced a Holiday release window. On the one hand, many of us were awed by the games on display. On the other, we were skeptical as to whether Sony would actually make the release, much less deliver even half the games it showed off.
Sony has confirmed that LittleBigPlanet 3 servers on PlayStation 4 will remain offline “indefinitely” following troubles with the service from earlier this year.
Sad day, hopefully they’ll allow a third party server solution. Goes to show game preservation is an uphill battle.
What needs to be highlighted by this is that the series has had 4 main games then that go kart spin off yet sony let them all die.
There is 0 games like this on ps5 and to my knowledge 0 first party main kids games no tech demo crap
Sony purchased Media Molecule studio the ip then tossed it away letting it rot for over 7 years yet the community carried on until now were we have lost 16 years on all games of content along with no replacement.
Everyone goes on about ea killing studios but sony has killed way way more but its fine its sony they can do no wrong.
Before the sony blidboys track me down again go fire up your holy boxes all the dlc they tossed out all the trophies and all the user content needs a server side handshake that no longer works. Yes offline single player version 1.0 works but that is it.
Media Molecule was not cut i know but they only made LBP and dreams it was reported they just missed the chopping block

Do not forget the dreams game was tossed out 2020 but 3 years later support was pulled

All in all this is another failure at sony on a long long list in the past 10 years
I feel bad for Media Molecule. For the ideas they have it seems they need a publisher that supports games like this and Dreams especially for as many players as possible.
Does it still hold up in 2024?
We've still got a few months to go, but October marks the 10-year anniversary of this Insomniac Games title, with the developer having since moved on to work on the Marvel's Spider-Man games for PlayStation. It was assumed that Sunset Overdrive might make its way to other platforms eventually, but that hasn't happened as of yet.
So beloved that it sold so well that there's a sequel and Insomniac never had the opportunity to go back to Sony to develop games exclusively for Sony.
Not beloved enough for Xbox owners to buy it apparently, Xbox was the worst possible audience for that game.
Insomniac: “We went with Microsoft because we want to own the IP so it’s ours”
Microsoft: *owns publishing rights preventing the studio to re-release the original game, make a remaster, remake, any DLC, massive expansions and multiple sequels on other platforms*
The logic is just…I never got it
Owning the IP was Insomniacs main defence when they announced they were making a game exclusively for MS and yet they’ve ended up “owning” an IP they can’t do anything with.
If they went with Sony like normal you might have seen a sequel by now.
Sadly this may never get the proper fps update it deserves on XB (or even PS) but I now play it on steam and it definitely feels better at 60fps than it did at 30. Its a fast paced game... you need that 60fps in this one.
For those who don't have time for massive open worlds or role-playing games with epic tales, these 15 games are worth checking out.
It really is hard to say which is the number one console to own for the holidays. With the same third party support for both consoles it comes down to the exclusives, online capabilities, and benefits of the online services. If you are a fan of Playstation exclusives and are a fan of indie games, PS4 is the way to go. If you are more interested in Microsofts exclusives, want a more refined online experience, and the quantity of "free" games is less of a factor, the Xbox One would be better. There is no right answer to which is better, it all comes down to personal preference. If you can budget it, buy both.
Hate this stigma. It's like Xbox fans think if they say it enough times it will come true. This ain't Oz people you can tap your slippers and say it as many times as you want but it isn't coming true because as listwar.com will quantitatively show you this is COMPLETELY subjective! A man owns PS4 and WiiU and the thought of buying an Xbox One never is really that appealing but if he were a huge Halo fan he's sure it would be VERY enticing. Now on one hand a man is very against the mold in that respect (for buying a WiiU). On the other he's very with it (PS4 is the MOST popular by far now). Bottom line, the masses are saying it is NOT the console to own and ratings and games that have come out don't say that either. Sorry but it just isn't.
Xbox One has a great Line Up and Xbox LIVE and the OS Gets better and better, monthly updates, great games, Phil Spencer and Halo?? cmon now you know whats up
Xbox has the best games for the holidays definitely the console to own.
