Dude i had this on PS3, it always worked, it was just a bit of a struggle for about the first week. Aka it would take multiple attempts to find people or not kick your friend.
They didn't show virtually none on vita because it was integrated and set with announcements through out.
It had it's own 5 minute-ish set followed by multiple announcements through out the show along side PS3 reveals.
Also Sony revealed plenty before E3 and there's plenty more game conferences to come.

On topic, i don't think it did take a back seat. They announced more games, more integration and that's all it needed really, unless you're a person who still thinks the device is 'over priced'.
Wonderbook maybe ran longer than it should have but hey there was plenty of awesome stuff for both Vita and PS3

It's a little more expensive than off the record was. I kind of agree though, it will probably be the existing game(allowing you to load your save) with new places/characters/items etc

It looks better, completely different setting, gritty survival/thriller, no insane climbing/jumping(if you view released footage climbing is kept to more realistic objects such as low ledges, actual ladders etc), different characters, ammo is far less common, more stealthy..
Uncharted is more of a lighthearted humorous action game.

There's also been plenty of other genre games for non FPS players though.
There's a difference between fast and 'weighted' controls.
Killzone controls weren't slow, the character just had weight meaning, movement speeds varied and such.

Imo, even if it does it's a little too late.
I think it's fairly obvious that 2013 will be the new console announcement date for at least Sony or Microsoft. By this time the cod for that platform will have to be running a new engine which makes this(if what's said is true) a bit daft this late on.
Maybe they got told they'll have a little break after this until the next-gen consoles arrive and felt like actual doing a decent amount of work :P...

Gears Kinect incoming, it's the only reasonable for an announcement so soon after the last installment.

This is less than a year after Gears 3's release date.

Wrong, the device has been in devs hands for some time now and the WiiU is certainly easier to code for than the PS3 was and still IS.
Even if your arguemnt was valid and that's the case, then it still doesn't matter because by the time they 'master' the wiiU in a couple of years and graphical quality rises. The next PS and Xbox will be on the market making it look even worse so in my eyes it's a 'lose lose' situation for Nintendo core gamers.
