People want last gen platformer games, but they arent going to work this gen.

If you want a run-and-jump-platformer, they are PSN/WiiWare/XBLA scale game now.

I'm *out of my mind* excited for this game - Rare's build something new and unique; I think the author fails to recognize that their will by mulitplayer exchange of vehicles.

The best vehicles will "rise to the top" and the best builders are going to concentrate on doing that.

This shouldnt come as a suprise to anyone who's been honest with themselves about this game.

The videos showed weak AI and physics all along, and the whole art direction is totally ripped-off from previous leading titles.

They dont need to "leapfrog" WiiWare and PSN.

They are already clearly way out front in the downloadable games business.

The XNA Community is going to be something that sets them *further* ahead.

Edit: @ Below.

XNA permits development of games for Windows, Zune and Xbox 360. XNA titles can be distributed on XBLA.

XNA is something very unique to the market, nothing like this has been available before. Small ...

Right. Tell that to the device manufacturers who sell hardware by making drivers for Windows.

Tell that to the millions of Developers who work with ASP, C#, .NET, XNA and all the rest of the development tools MS makes - have you ever heard of Visual Studio?

MS is all about *3rd Party* success. Windows is an open platform for 3rd parties to build upon.

For you to include OSX as "open" is ridiculous. OSX is a closed fork of FreeBSD. And...

"It’s worth reiterating that, even at preview stage, the action at the core of NGII stands up to the best in the genre."

"preview code"

**They are talking about PREVIEW CODE**

And, if the only problem is the camera? Its going to be fantastic.

The PS3 is a failure-hole for 3rd parties, and the market knows it.

BluRay is a stillborn mess from Sony's RIAA/MPAA division crippled with Sony DRM.

Dont forget it -- the PS3 is a failure.

Final Fantasy? Who needs it.

Perhaps you've hard of Last Remnant or Infinate Undiscovery?

Final Fantasy is "Generic JRPG from SE". Sorry.

yeah, damage control for being 7 Million consoles ahead.

Xbox 360 @ 19M > PS3 @ 12M.

Sorry.

Hey sony cheerleaders: good luck covering the 7 million console hole the PS3 is in.

Oh, and Bluray will never be a mass market format.

So, lets take some comment totally out of context and make up a worthless slam against a microsoft product.

quick! post it to N4G!

This website sucks.

Wii is really not going to last as long as Xbox 360 & PS3. So, Wii is really not "in this race".

So:

Xbox 360 has 19 Million boxes.
PS3 has 12 Million boxes.

Even if Sony has barely outsold them during the beginning of the year due to the hardware shortage, the bottom line is this:

IT doesnt matter. The PS3 will not pass the Xbox 360 during this generation, and the Xbox 360 will end up with a greater install ba...

Rare really delivered on the awesome new gameplay mechanic they discussed.

Open ended machine building in a realistic physics 3D platformer game == totally awesome.

Rare has a very big hit on their hands. The game graphics look spectacular, the game mechanic is completely new and as all reviews are saying, they've really hit one out of the park here.

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts looks fantastic.

MS said "we reached 10 Million" first in the USA.

From their press release:

"REDMOND, Wash., May 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Microsoft Corp. today announced that the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system has sold over 10 million units in the U.S., making it the first current-generation gaming console to break the 10 million mark in the U.S. The U.S. install base contributes to global sales of over 19 million, more than any other current-gene...

Who the &*&@ is "dpadz.com" and why on earth would anyone submit such garbage.

This is a NEWS site, not a blog-collection site so these losers can generate ad traffic.

Absolute worthless submission.

Read the article "Q1/Q2 2007" its a year old! The register article it is quoting is from 2006!

Anyone else see any information on the non-coop multiplayer play?

"No comment" about non-coop multiplayer? That is news to me. I didnt know there was *any* multiplayer other than the coop.

Does this mean some kind of PvP multiplayer? Or, multiplayer that *isnt* campaign play?

Wow, that would be fcuking awesome.

Its great that they took the story, characters and game world very seriously.

The gameplay looks spectacular -- its great to know that gamers are getting a game universe constructed with such excellent consideration.

Day one purchase for sure, looks like a solid contender for Action-RPG of the Year.
