IF u want backward compatibility then buy 60 or 80 model, and if u like me who r cheap and want to save 100 buck and don't care about backward compatibility go for the 40gig model. Two SKU is good for customers anything more than that is just plain retarded.
Edit: Down the road i am sure SONY will use software backward compatibility, it will be foolish not to.
One the 60gig is sold-out, please SONY stick with 40 and 80 gig model stop confusing the customers. 40gig bare bone maybe spiderman movie( don't really care) software backward compatibility=$399.99, 80gig full feathers bundle up a game or 2 or 1 game and 1 movie =$499.99.
