Yep 100% agree to a certain degree. Back in the old days when final fantasy was good i used to love waiting for the next final fantasy to see what new battle system and item/level system they would introduce.... Now we are at a point where there is nothing but shit i feel like they need to look back to the past. No one has ever said less control is good i miss controlling all characters arghhh.
Huge losses was a sign???? Seriously try walking in a straight line for 40 hours... Just go back to basics with Final Fantasy. Just give me the final fantasy X battle system mixed with FF9 item/level system and i will die a happy man!
Indies IMHO are the way to go hey.... because game developers now and days are making games for the masses because it cost so much money to make. Where as indies are making games for gamers, like take torchlight 2 for example i put in like 200 + hours and for me thats really hard to do.

EDIT: its why i think indies are our only hope. Problem for me is i want more D & D games but indies won't get the license and the only games made from D&D rules are for the masses :(.

IMHO it will be better because no ALWAYS ONLINE option. That in itself makes it 100x better.
Its what i predict as well and what i also fear.... I really hope it doesn't happen like that, i mean we have already lost so much as it is. 70% of games and the rest you buy with dlc for one... Online passes, store exclusive dlc anything else? :(
