If you are fine with being sold perceptions.
It is consumer manipulation.
Microsoft pushed with gaming “media”, media, and third party exclusives to give the perception of popularity to make a move on the market.
Vg is a tabloid site. Nothing more.
So what purpose does it serve?

Microsoft is in two major markets…
The halo parents that never cared about gaming or gaming news are buying them for their kids as they get old enough to game on a console.
Just out of muscle memory

Everyone knows…
But they are partnered with this site and do the tabloid approach of marking their articles as “rumor”.
And yes… they do it intentionally.

^naive and I hope you will always just be an employee.
Would hate for you to wake up to the cutthroat world of owning your own business.

It is literally leaked and confirmed the intent is to bury Sony out of the market.

“She is right”

The only “right” is the point IF the ftc failed to make their case.
Does not mean that the consumer is not affected/harmed by the deal… of which they will be.
We are talking about consumer products.
Direct impacts on a consumers wallet can be defined as harmful.

The harm to the consumer is Microsoft gaining so much leverage over the market.

Possibilities are as follows:
If Microsoft pulls the licenses on a competitors product, of which they can fully do, said consumers lose their money invested into said games.
If a consumer with a long history of supporting an ip that Microsoft pulls from their preferred hardware due to the acquisition.. said consumer would either have to fork over more money to purchase a produc...

Microsoft’s bread and butter is owning.
They see threats to their system and they go after them.
Sure gaming can produce money, but hardware design for computing is their threat.
Either control Sony or remove them(not sure if this is their goal… unless Sony does not play along ever)

We have to remember Microsoft was in huge danger at the turn of 2000.
Apple, google and Sony with Linux.

Why does Microsoft want these dea...

That is what subscriptions are.

He does not care nor do their loyal fan base.
About anything other than go team xbox and wait till next year.

You could not be further away from reality.
I get the spin you are selling, but name me 10 AAA Microsoft studio exclusives in the last 15 years. (Non sequels counting as another game)
And I will check them.
Without Microsoft’s exclusive moves with EA, activision, and Ubisoft Microsoft would not even be in gaming anymore.

314d ago 30 agree15 disagreeView comment

If Microsoft comes bouncing in with the Xbox 360 and creates a lot of exclusives from third party publishers, EA, activision, Ubisoft etc and taking major market share away from Sony because of this….
What do you expect the results to be?
Sony lay down and hand over the market?
To Microsoft?
Do not confuse fighting fire with fire with WHATABOUTISM to hand Microsoft a major chunk of the markets leading publishers.
At any point Microsoft could have a...

I have looked it up..
And it came from Sony innovating while Nintendo(who backed out of Sonys design of innovation) and sega would not innovate.
Sony excited the world of developers.
Sony threw money at the innovation.. not “exclusives”.
The “exclusives” fell onto the only hardware that could run the games at the time.

Sega cd add on was not going to function properly and Nintendos cartridges were not capable.

Microsof...

No…
But Microsoft benefits greatly from the headlines in a place where people can comment. Clicks.

It creates traffic.
Due to user comments and arguing back and forth.
In the world of the internet, traffic creates weighted topics.
So outside of the viral marketing, Microsoft gets a bump in search results the more traffic a headline gets.

Microsoft is not after gamers in the know, they are sending messages to those not...

The better statement is…
Go back to the starfield topics about 30fps on the x.
How people are saying they can not optimize a performance mode…
While it can be optimized for the series s to run at the same “targeted” 30fps by lowering the graphics.
Funny how marketing always gets stepped on by reality.

They always do sales pitches..
It is not resolution..
Shading, foliage distance, ray tracing, film grain etc etc is the cpu bottlenecks and all can be dialed back.

The game will be a slide show with screen tearing just like the rest of their games.

Cool they want to throw that much into the looks, but the culprits are what I stated above and probably global illumination.

Microsoft “gaming” does not even touch double digit billions in a year…
$4 billion last year
Compared to Sonys $22+ billion

320d ago 28 agree2 disagreeView comment

Well… being Microsoft does not lift a finger in actual game development and just keeps updating their console with cheap pc architecture…
There will not be much innovating coming from them… game wise or engines.

Commercial cut and paste.

The difference is where Sony designs their hardware to help developers and push engines forward.

How can we help vs make it work.
