What gives?
If you haven't played Prison of Elders on level 32+, you haven't discovered what Destiny is capable of providing as a game.
The new House of Wolves expansion separates true gamers from casual players who aren't capable of (or interested in) evolving with the game.
It's already been said: if you don't like Destiny, then move on to something that you DO like. Why waste time obsessively bitching about a game that millions of players continue to play and apparently enjoy?
I've got three level 32 characters; I'm part of a clan of solid players that make multiplayer raids a sociable event several times a week. I've derived more value from Destiny than most other AAA games in recent years.
That said, it&...
"defiantly" a problem? definitely a problem with spelling
The alarmist professor states: " "Our focus is on young men who play video games to excess, and do it in social isolation - they are alone in their room."
I guess he has never heard of multiplayer, clans, and the social interaction that is necessary to play some games well.
His admonitions against porn follow the same pattern: watching to excess (as he defines it) in isolation. He seems not to have heard about cam-to-cam interactions or any o...
well, that should keep all serious players of Destiny busy for months.
Why is this review in the Xbox One section?
In what other entertainment field, would people obsessively argue that sales figures are what determine the true worth of anything?
Is "Fifty Shades of Grey" a better book than all others that sell less copies?
As a person who owns both consoles, this entire dispute is ridiculous.
Is mono better than stereo?
Destiny has provided me with more engrossing gameplay than any other game in years. I fully understand that some people dislike the game, or even hate it.
But I don't consider myself to be short-changed.
I've traded in several AAA games since Destiny was released. Maybe Dragon Age: Inquisition had more content but It didn't hold my interest for long.
I play with a clan of dedicated gamers. They make a huge difference in how valuable the ...
"Ford vs. Chevy. Pepsi vs. Coke. Xbox vs. PlayStation. Each of these rivalries include two products that are similar in every aspect, yet you have to pick a side."
Maybe one has to choose between Ford and...Honda (?) based on how much it costs to buy a car, but Pepsi/Coke and XBox/Playstation are not either/or choices.
When it comes to gaming, just about any serious gamer (as opposed to a flamer) can afford to have the best that both consoles have ...
227 hours.
Now that the fickle pickles have left, the chances of encountering skilled players has increased, making BF4 even more enjoyable.
The only game that is likely to consume more of my time is Destiny.
"either/or" thinking in gaming leads to overrating one system and underestimating the system that is left out.
"both/and" thinking allows a gamer to enjoy the best that all consoles have to offer.
Why would any serious gamer choose amputation and limited options?
As the price increased for consoles, it led more people to choose just one system and then become fanatics about their choice.
when one considers facts rather than opinions, we find inconvenient facts like this:
"The most pre-ordered games in the USA ranked by unit sales:
1 Halo 5: Guardians (XOne)" VGAChartz March 2015
And the world's first Destiny player to reach Level 30, two weeks after Destiny was released last Sept, did it with Xbox1.
Apparently XB1 is not exactly on the ropes.
Bungie controls how "relevant" Xur is.
And how relevant the various factions may be.
Right now, I'm scratching my head over Eris Morn.
Having reached level four with her, any bounty XP that is generated appears to be wasted -- and will remain that way indefinitely. We're not allowed to direct Eris XP to any faction. The factions are all capped at this point anyway. Their wares do not rotate nor do they advance.

Cancelled my BH pre-order after trying out the Beta.
Seemed closer to a GTA wannabe than a BF game.
There has to be something better and worth the price in the pipeline.
And, I'm still busy playing the extremely challenging Destiny every single day with three level-31 characters, despite misgivings about some aspects of Bungie's management of the game. Could never say however that I did not get my money's worth from Destiny.
Wasn't impressed by the Beta of this offshoot from the main Battlefield games.
So pre-order was cancelled -- and it had nothing to do with frame rates.
I expect it will get lukewarm reviews, middling sales, and pass from the attention of most videogamers shortly thereafter.
If someone dies after drinking a glass of milk it doesn't mean that the glass of milk killed him or her.
Odd to see people calling this person "stupid" for allegedly playing a videogame for 19 hours. There pretty much has to be some underlying reason for his death -- which may never be known, or if it becomes known the news won't receive anywhere near the publicity of the original sensationalistic story.
This guy played a game he obviously enj...
For me the most frustrating mystery began with the introduction of Eris Morn in The Dark Below.
I was trying to level up my Murmur fusion rifle. But Bungie decided that on the third to last upgrade for that weapon (and that weapon alone as far as I know) I must have a "Runed Core". The only way to get a runed core is from Eris Morn. You have to be at THIRD LEVEL standing to buy it from her. (It takes 6000 reputation points to reach the third level!)
The people who keep bitchin' about Destiny rarely tell us how far they got in the game and what other games they prefer.
It would be more positive for such people to play what they love rather than keep complaining about Destiny.
Destiny is not a game for everyone -- and that's a good thing. As time goes by, I expect to find more genuine gamers in the matches rather than bungling amateurs who don't truly belong there. Destiny is evolving and so...
