There are over 20 million people in Australia. Just because it isn't one of the largest countries in the world, doesn't mean the game outselling 360 in a market of 20 million+ isn't news.
And how exactly would this work with not all 360's having a HDD? Even the ones that do, most of them are only 20 gig.

Maybe the BBC guy saw Rockstar's new PS3 exclusive game. I mean, it is top-secret (wouldn't want to be revealed before GTA4), and won't be out until 2009.
Is everyone forgetting that when Insomniac released this debut trailer for Ratchet And Clank Future: Tools Of Destruction, everyone screamed CGI? Well guess what, it was in-game footage.

I'm getting the feeling that this was supposed to be included with the June 13 gameplay, but Sony released this epic teaser just 2 weeks before GTAIV hits, to help sway those choosing a console. Because that trailer would definetely convince me to go PS3.

Team Bondi (Sydney based studio) is making LA Noire, Rockstar is only publishing. Rockstar are currently making a new Playstation3 exclusive franchise, but they have not yet named it/released any info on it.

If you desperately want to play GT5 a year before the full game is finished, Sony is giving you that option. If you don't want to preview it now, then wait. It is so damn simple.
