Shadows of Mordor and Marvel Heroes are both action RPGs, but they aren't open world in the sense that Skyrim is.

And both EA and Bethesda have sunk millions dollars into these games. There seems to be huge a disconnect between gamers and developers in the MMO industry.
But as a publisher, Bethesda has a personal stake in the creative quality of TESO.
The only thing that kept FFXV off this list was the lack of 2014 confirmation.
