Ignore the thugs and never pay them ransomware. Keep rewarding them and they will keep doing it.

Or invest in studios like cuphead who could have gone .. supply them with the investment and grow them.

Best way to deal with this is to prevent it happening in the future, ignore ransomware and not pay them, and not do the one thing they crave: do not pay them attention. Accept the hack, acknowledge it happened, and nobody should be rewarding them for this behavior. Answer is not in addressing it but deprive them of their attention and accept the loss. Continue business as usual. Other parties should not show any interest. Transparency should be the way anyways.

If we are disconnected and the author feel that’s critical to our experience, then enlighten us. We are not gonna realize that on our own. I’ll let u know if that knowledge increased the fun factor.

It’s nice not upgrading PC parts and playing in the living room. Keep my games separate from PC for work stuff or other activities.

I have 3 xbox stations. Gramps house and all. It’s nice having it accessible and not carry stuff around. I buy digitals of course. Kids continue off where they left it at other locations.

Having a third person is rather bogus. By the time someone has an issue, it’s already late. HR is about documentation. That’s as far as their job. Not in resolution in the truest sense. HR is about corporate lawsuits. People need to wake up and look inside. Need more timeout and higher spiritual growth.

It’s the eternal problem not unique to just gaming. It’s the abuse at both extremes. It’s a problem where those who make lots of money abuse power. Unions, being a subscription, are unnaturally compelled to do something rather than be a shield to be wielded when necessary. The correct path is to be in the middle in regards to the right mindset and action. For example, in healthcare I had bosses who were tyrannical in leadership. That didn’t work. I have a new boss who is polar opposite and le...

It’s character selection. One example cuphead. That my kids would love. They can always add more with the quality work they do.

All this focus on acquiring proven gaming companies. Why not organically start small and create decent small projects as first party titles. And build from there. Games don’t necessarily need better graphics as they need more creativity in design. Compelling storyline. Dont need to hire 500 ppl. Hire a small team. Cuphead is a great example. Maybe some nice retro wrestling games as well as tmnt-like games reimagined. Focus on family coop games. Start east with 16-bit. These games normally nee...

I know this shouldn’t be about war but China is kinda not our friend at the moment. Should microsoft really be putting their eggs in here? Why can’t they look into India and all pro USA nation? China will just allow ppl to rip technology secrets off like how they always have done to catch up to America. Now they want to be big brother.

Last time I checked they didn’t back up google on Australia. And bent backwards to agree to anything on Australia ridiculous tech law. Bc mi...

In a sense I agree. The underscoring statement should be that developers should focus on a vision for their game and stick by it. Not too much focus on monetizing. It works like Newton’s third law: action & reaction. You penny pinch us, we will resent it. You build a quality product with a finalization.. we pay u onetime good money for what it’s worth. Consumers don’t pay for half a drug. They pay for the prescription after getting all full product. I cite cuphead as perfect example. An e...

Wasn’t this the country that didn’t know how the hell to argue against the pay difference with news organizations and decided to make a crude “pay us more upfront” code law so they could get more from google? Which then Microsoft, in silly fashion, backed them up likely to increase market penetration? Australia likely only cares about understanding USA tech companies not about justice. They allowed this so they can gain understanding how to keep more Australian money to themselves and would l...

Nintendo makes the best games period. But yes they make a lot of anticonsumer decisions. Because Nintendo is run by the 80s mentality where games were equivalent to $90 (inflation index). Adoption of newer technology has been their biggest challenge. The biggest malpractice as far as I'm concerned is tying games to hardware rather than cloud. So consumers being forced to rebuy titles is most egregious. Right next to treating consumers as piracy criminals who want to transfer to another sy...

Explain how the little guys work 100+ hours a week, their jobs get slashed, and the CEO makes over 200 million dollars. Charging more for games only helps the one guy make more money. It doesn't go to the developing team.

The problem is infrastructure.. and needs oversight to prevent the manager or corporates from abusing the employees. I'm not one for union but the capitalistic failures is most evident in the gaming industry where high moral fiber is practically sh...

In time ppl will see the value for BC. I think newer generations have this shortsighted vision of best game all resources in without regard to preservation. That can only work for so long before there isn't really anywhere further to go. We might cosmetically change titles and games but the ability to create something new becomes a recreation of the video game wheel. Maybe with a new team and new audience. Is the industry based on this high turnover? Is the industry based on this need for...

I'll give u one reason. Access to purchased titles. Sony has yet to address the PS3 PSP PS Vita rumor of a FULL shutdown.

They might be something I hardly play, but whether I get ability to download patches and updates for PS3 disc and access those digital goods that I purchased WILL change my behavior for buying in PS5 or any future products from Sony or Nintendo. It's small fries so in the grand scheme Sony ought to respect these digitals that Jim Ryan asked "...
