Sony should focus on staying afloat due to their financial struggles. Microsoft could afford to buy Crytek and Capcom. I wonder why Microsoft hasn't pulled the trigger. Microsoft needs more game studios.

Heavy Rain isn't linear at all. The story in Heavy Rain changed drastically based on your choices. Hell, I accidentally got the FBI agent killed in the bulldozer by a criminal and had to continue the game without his storyline. Other aspects of the story were effected since the FBI Agent had been killed.

With that being said, a linear game can still be spectacular. Take Uncharted and TLOU for example. Those games are linear but are some of the best games released last ge...

Microsoft earned $24.52Billion in the second quarter, while Sony has been crippled by losing a little over a billion dollars. Money isn't a factor for Microsoft. The Xbox division breaks even or earns a modicum of revenue, that doesn't make an impact either way, for one of the top 5 most powerful companies in the world.

Xbox is a marketing tool for Microsoft. They're more interested in getting as many consoles in consumers' homes as possible to push the Micros...

You may be correct, but I'm not 100% certain. If XB1 can stream live NFL games at 1080p and at 60fps, doesn't that mean that XB1 can run games in 1080p and at 60fps? Hell, NBA 2K14 runs at 1080p, 60fps on the XB1. However, the news does prove that it is easier to dev for the PS4 than the XB1 this time around. Also, Penello is right, Ryse Son of Rome is the best looking game on either console - for now.

It's about time people get over the $100 more for Kinect gripe. I have an XB1 and Kinect is awesome. It's worth the extra $100 in my opinion. People spend $500 on iPads. Every hardcore gamer has known about the XB1 and PS4 launch date since last summer. That's ample time to save money. If a person couldn't budget and safe an extra $100 between then and now shouldn't be purchasing a console at all. I apologize if that's insensitive.

Despite the bad press due to QTEs and muddled multiplayer, I think people are going to be surprised by RYSE once it releases. A game set in Rome is awesome. The synopsis of the story - protagonist returns home after battle to find his family murdered by the enemy - is cliche. But I never get bored with that premise in that particular setting. I bet the game will get a 9.2.

I don't understand how this is news. PS4 costs $399 and XBOX One cost $499. People are still criticizing Microsoft for that price. My cousin spent $800 on his PC rig; the bundle was worth near a $1000. His PC is middle of the road and it's extremely powerful. Imagine spending $1500 on a graphics card; that's insane.

I prefer consoles over PC, because consoles get more dev support. Lastly, gaming isn't all about graphics. Gameplay, story, voice work and artist...

It's funny that Tretton didn't give any specific details as to why PS4 is more powerful. Albert Penello, MS director of Product Planning, gave specific statistics as to why XB1 is more powerful. He was called a liar by most when the system architecture is the system architecture.

People across the internet see that PS4 has GDDR5 Ram, more TFL and more shaders and automatically believe the PS4 is more powerful than the XB1, then fanboys regurgitate those stats when the...

Microsoft having a February launch in the US is equivalent to Sony's delayed launch in Japan. After all, Sony is a Japanese company.

It doesn't mean that gamers don't want a PS4 at launch. Microsoft was lambasted for only launching in 13 territories. If Microsoft neglected one of their most important markets at launch, no one would let them off the hook and justify the decision.

The comparison between Ryse and Deep Down isn't fair, because Ryse will be released in November. Deep Down won't release until Fall 2014 or early 2015.

With another 8 months - to a year of development, Crytek could definitely improve the graphics in Ryse, because we all know that Crytek has created some of the best looking games of all time.

The gameplay may not be next gen, but the graphics are definitely next gen. When IGN and Gamespot demoed Ryse back at E3, they all said the game was so beautiful, the armor in particular, that the graphics were a bit distracting, because they found themselves marveling at the detail instead of focusing on the game.

With that being said, the multiplayer doesn't look as polished as the single player campaign. But most online multiplayer games take a visual hit - COD, Halo, ...

So for the record, Gaikai is a streaming service that will allow PS users to stream games for PS4, to PS3 and Vita. I think that's cool, but I don't want to hear anyone say that Microsoft's cloud based technology, Azure, and Sony's Gaikai do not do the same thing.

I plan on buying both consoles like I always have. But I'll buy an XB1 first. It has more features and the line up of games are better. Sony has a slew of indie titles in their bullpen, but I'm not an indie gamer. Infamous Second Son looks cool, but I can wait on it. I've never liked Killzone - Titanfall, COD, BF4, Destiny, Halo, and Gears will be better.

I think I may buy a PS4 late 2014 or early 2015, once more exclusives are released. I also think Kinect 2.0 is...

I'm having a hard time believing that the interviewer spoke to Phil Harrison in that aggressive tone and used those exact words to ask questions. Journalist, especially unknown journalist, don't verbally assault guest during an interview. The interview was rude. Tough, hard-ball questions can be asked without attacking a person's decisions.
