I'll never understand corporate apologists. Consumers have every right to complain. I usually find a silver lining on each list, but I have a Vita, PS3 and a PS4.
Nevertheless, I encqourage respondents to speak their mind. It is concerning to see how many contributers so willingly drink the kool aid. Businesses need to be taken to task in order to prevent complacency. I'm a Sony guy but refuse to deify them. Complain or celebrate but keep it in perspective gamer nation....

After unplugging the power cord and coming back a while later my external HD is now being detected. While I cannot explain what happened to correct the problem I am nevertheless overjoyed.

I love my PS3.

Has anyone else had any issues with external hard drive detection after firmware update 3.40?

Mine worked fine until I removed it and added some content from the PC, but when I hooked it back to the PS3 it no longer detected it. The format is correct (I've used it for months with the PS3) and the PC still reads it fine. Flash drives work, just not the external HD.

I just updated the firmware a few days ago, but do not want to jump the gun and blame ...

Why isn't software considered technology? Is this just a matter of personal semantics or is there a, pardon the pun, technical basis for your definition of what is and is not tech?

Technology, as a term, would include both hardware and software.

Dinkeldinkse said, "If I really want to watch people that have absolutely no idea what they are talking about, I'll just watch a celebrity interview." I say, "Or Fox News."

In terms of its impact on popular culture, do you really think The Daily Show is only one step up from G4TV's AOTS? Seriously? I am by no means a huge Munn fan, other than her obviously sizzling attributes, but the writing alone on The Daily Show is a world apart from hackish...

Faith, in my humble opinion, is the purposeful abdication of doubt.

I am not religious. Probability is the foundation of science and I find myself erring on the side of this principle while maintaining a respect for the preferences of others (I don't always have to be right or possess all the answers).

The existence of a God/Goddess being is not probable. However, it may be just as improbable to think that human beings can know, with any degree of certi...

but if I had to choose it would be the Move system. Is it superior? Let others debate the point. I simply don't own an Xbox 360 (at the moment), so my choice is easy. Since we have a Wii, it will likely be a while before my gaming budget is affected by either of the HD alternatives.

I still cannot help being curious though. I hope both are great successes, as long as this doesn't bode negatively for gaming in the conventional style I love.

is it necessarily true that religious people are illogical? Admittedly, I am not religious. I look at faith as a kind of purposeful abdication of doubt, if that is was you mean.

Personally, I hope something exists beyond the body, but that is not probable. Science is built upon a foundation of probability, and I find myself erring on the side of this principle while retaining a healthy respect for religious belief.

This is not as easy as I initially though...

I am intrigued by your statement, especially the latter half. What do you mean? I realize some would say religion is actually a component of human nature, but I am simply curious how you contextualize the direction you are coming from.

I am not religious at all, so this isn't a the first stage in a strategy of derogation.

you sound pretty wise yourself.

Fanboys are the closest thing I can think of, at this very moment, to a perpetual motion machine. They continue to feed each other feasts of fire.

Luckily for the rest of us, they are the only ones that truly suffer from their self prescribed carbonization of character. Let them flame on and the rest of us can roast marshmallows.

I had to chuckle a little with your characterization of N4G. It was impossible for me not to imagine Afghanistan and the Taliban. My vision included graven images of Bill Gates being dynamited from weathered stone cliffs and earnest eyed and heavily bearded Uncharted fans praying in the direction of Tokyo (not to insult our Islamic cousins, I am simply referring to the extreme factions of your culture).

I am part of a Sony and Nintendo family, but it is kind of sad to think...

I hope it's not Betamax versus VHS. It also sounds reminiscent of just a few years ago when the buzz was that Sony wasn't as effective with their PR perspective.

Things have changed. But, whether-or-not MS has simply caught the fancy of casuals with keyboards or they are engaging in a policy of patented palm padding - the talk certainly seems to favor Kinect.

I personally plan on letting the early adopters work it all out. Plus the idea of the 3DS ...

in my mind at least, is more of a gaming personality than a journalist. This is not unlike a Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh on the political scene. Each are entertainers that inform (or misinform depending upon your point of view), but not journalists per se; and each are accused of some level of bias.

Why all the hate? He tends the flame of the great gaming dialogue, in his own way. Many opinions on this site are dripping with rancor when it comes to HHG.

I wonder who is going to make more money in the next year or so on 3D, irrespective of the level of actual technology?

I love my PS3, but Sony isn't the only manufacturer of 3D televisions. If I choose to purchase one, it will be the item with the highest professional reviews, which may or may not be one of the Sony stable. Other companies have been in the habit of stealing much of Sony's television thunder in the last few years.

A new DS, however,...

Add a second analog nub to the PSP2 and Nintendo can have all the 3D(S) they want - I'll be buying from you.

Sincerely,

PS - who am I kidding, I would buy both; real gamers cannot choose just one!!

Lest we forget the massive library of 1080P games at our fingertips...

3D could be an incredible immersion into our hobby and the next level of FUN, but it will take some time before it catches on in a massive way.

There is a reason the non-HD Wii is a sales leviathan, but my console of choice is moving up in a big way. Will it catch the Wii anytime soon? No, but eventually even the densest casuals stop denying the superiority factor.
