AAA games don't automatically mean good games. There are lots of big budget triple A games coming out last year this year and next year. The problem is they grow increasingly underwhelming. There's only one answer as to why. Big publishers are becoming increasingly conservative, as they need to increasingly get more money from each ip.
enslaved kinda plays itself though. It tells you where to go at every step and most combat could be gotten through by spamming one attack button.
Good article, kind of interesting. Mostly as expected but still neat to see in graph form.
I could almost see sony morphing gaikai to allow video and music streaming as well. They've been trying to push their music unlimited thing for some time now but without much success.
They will definitely keep it doing games but since they also sit on a massive publishing catalog of music and movies its almost silly to not put those out streaming as well.
Last in last out man.
It's actually a pretty reachable goal if they drop the ps3's price. One more drop and the ps3 hits the spot where the ps2 did most of it's sales.
Writing in a tiny hook at the end of the game is barely character development. Sorry to tell you this but god of war 3 is a clone of god of war 2. Half of the story is the exact same except it has slightly less depth. At least in god of war 2 krato's was striving for redemption. God of war 3 starts out exactly like god of war 2 with kratos fighting some giant boss/mini boss type guys. Then zeus killing kratos and kratos climbing out of hades AGAIN. And so on and so forth. I could keep out...
As the author said it's a good chance for them to work the character angle again.
There's no reason there can't be gore and character development it just takes good writing. As the first game, the psp games and the new game hopefully do.
I agree on all accounts. Very good article. Except beyond.
I no longer like kratos. He used to be more or less of a sympathetic character.
Totally in the bath. As long as your sure you won't drop your electronic devices in it. Why not lol.
Wow 7 this list keeps going up
Right now? No not really. Although for a great analogy look at the history of movies.
Even though we've lost most of the movies from the beginning of the last century the ones that are still around are good examples. There are some films from the 20's and 30's on netflix. They were all pretty basic rudimentary films.
Now I'm not saying games are way back at that stage, we're probably closer to being in the 40's or 50's era.
The ms e3 conference this year seemed strangely like american pro military occupation propaganda. Or at least very pro war.
Yeah but if they can do both then they should have at er.
They've given the impression that porting ps3 games to the vita isn't exceptionally difficult. I'm sure the developers can go into making the game with the intention of having it on both consoles with good results.
Though I do essentially agree with you, portable games are usually designed with shorter game spans in mind. The difference between peace walker and mgs 4 was huge in terms of g...
Nawww world of duty
Yeah definitely the best game released in 2012 so far, and I can't think of anything else that seems as good.
Yeah that looks pretty good, definitely will be keeping an eye on it.
Though in the past I've seen promising trailers, and played great demo's an in the end the game ended up not being very scary.
Forget about dante can we play as that chick?
how many studios is that working on cod now?
Four? Five?
The prince from katamari would be pretty funny
I'm fully expecting this reboot to be a mash up of paradise city and most wanted. There will probably be a bit of body/ paint customization.
I do however expect a ridiculous amount of cars in compensation. Hopefully more than paradise city, although those were un licensed. It would probably be super expensive to license a hundred plus vehicles.
