Sony will broadcast the E3 press conference within PlayStation Home

PS3-Sense writes "Tuesday is the big day for the Sony press conference on E3 2008. To celebrate this Sony will give 25 beta accounts to the press in Europe. The Media and Events space will open on Monday where people can watch the press conference live on a big screen. Several billboards will contain new trailers of Sony's newest announcements."

Dude chill out. I'm not saying you don't have a PS3, but if you did you would realize that last years E3 Press conference was on the store the Thursday after. NOw I'm not sure if you neglected this fact or where just unaware. But chill I am sure we will be able to see it. On a side not is Microsoft having there conference live on xbox live. If so you can be a little pissed, but we will have it so just chill.

I can only really tell you what happened last year for a start in the uk ads are restricted to small areas on the dash and aren't integrated into and videos they are stuff like download this from live arcade or download game/demo or in stores this week showing launching games nothing like get yer big macs or whoppers or non game related stuff.

last year it wasn't live steaming but a HD well filmed highlight video was available fairly soon after along with about 10 trailers a day and 1 or 2 demos a day from the show floor
but since inside xbox was launched live streaming common now there are interviews to steam nearly every day so it probably will be but there not definite as no info has been released yet and after the halo 3 trailer murders bandwidth last year I'd say no.
the whole conference was available in parts all in HD with 2 parts to download every day but by then I had already seen it on net.

Its not useless. As much as it would be cool for all to be able to use Home this year to see E3. Home is in closed beta at this time. Doing things while in beta so they don't fail while in final build is not useless its common sense.

It would be nice if they had a special early Qore issue for E3. Not everyone gets qore yet though. I plan to use my PC as always to watch E3 but next year I will definitely watch from Home and thats killer. If they upgraded the PS3 Web browser's flash player we could just watch on the PS3's web browser too. It would be possible to watch it on youtube... Anyway im sure they will put the vids on PSN like last year.

Thats still pretty cool though, and I hope they announce the release date of the open beta will be at least sometime in August.

I dont really mind going to IGN or Gamespot for the videos. Sure I would like to watch it live on my PS3 but I'm sure they will upload all of those videos within a day or two in HD on to the Playstation Store.

Wow are all of you really that naive and ignorant?? Just because Sony will be presenting in Home doesn't mean that those who aren't in Home won't be able to still view the conference.

All of those media outlets, I can guarantee you, will probably either stream or give a live feed of the conference going on in Home.

Personally, I think it is a GREAT tactic to show progress on Home while also delivering the goods that they are going to give at E3.\

I think they're doing this for the beta, well to test the beta before the massive distribution. This just shows you that PlayStation Home will bring things to a whole new level when it comes to service. People should be glad it's at its beta stage that means it's up and running with bugs all around.

When that's happening live I'll just watch G4TV coverage if I don't miss it.

How can a service fail if it's functional? It's like saying the PlayStation 3 video store will fail, how can it fail if it's functional? PlayStation Home isn't a game but an interacting service, to me it makes not sense. It's virtually XBOX Live or the PlayStation Network but 3D. The only way a service will fail is if it isn't functional.

i'll give a shot at watching it on my ps3 browser.. it will be on youtube eventually as well...

and i should be able to watch it on other websites on ps3. technically speaking, MS is just giving a direct access to an event we have access to via browser and many other shows. hell i watch animeonline.tv on my browser. pick show, zoom in, watch.. done..

E3 is a good test for streaming content like this to HOME. but i am dissapointed that they didnt open it up more to more people if this is the case.

i'm not that crazy about home right now, or killzone 2 or ffxiii. anything that is not that close to release makes no sense in getting too worked up about. i'll jump on the bandwagon the month of an official release..

have a lot of boring filler talk, and it's only the "surprise" announcements of new games and services that interest us gamers. do we REALLY care about how much profit Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft made in the last year? or how many units of X game is selling?

in truth; we SHOULDN'T. we should care about the various software and services hitting the consoles.

that's why the gaming industry goes to these events, sits through the boring stuff, and reports, via live-blogging or WHATEVER, what big things have been said, or anything else of interest.

i downloaded the press conferences of last year, and i honesty skipped through most of it, because nothing to me is more boring than seeing a bunch of middle-aged guys in business suits reminding us all of how rich they are, but in boring terms that excite ONLY other rich middle-aged business-men.

i like following E3 via the websites (even though they often neglect some of the smaller gems of a game that get buried underneath the "megatons"), where i can get the gist of the conference, and any details.

it's a great idea to broadcast this stuff through HOME, but not many gamers will have the stomach to sit through the entire thing while they wait for the good stuff.

i personally think it'd be cool to have live Q&A sessions within HOME with various gaming personalities, and HOME users could log in, maybe purchase a spot on the queue, and get to ask Ted Price, or Tim Schaffer a question, and then have THAT broadcast live to those that didn't get a "ticket" to the session. i'd love to be able to sit down, virtually or in real life, with some of these developers and just shoot the sh*t about video games. with HOME, you'd be able to do that in a unique way. it's one of the things that interests me about the service as a whole. it has a way of bringing developers and gamers together that just wasn't possible years ago.

hell, i remember when i had to wait a MONTH AFTER E3 to get news of what went down, because that's when the "E3 Issue" of various magazines would be ready for print.

i have a feeling some of you younger guys wouldn't last a DAY in the late 80's, early 90's, before all of this wacky digital information age madness kicked in. i admit, i'm most certainly spoiled by it, but i've served my time in the "snail mail" trenches, so i think i've earned some luxury here. lol.

anyway, those folks flipping out over this: RELAX, it's just a broadcast for HOME users, testing out the feature (there wasn't this ruckus when Ubisoft did the same thing a few months back...), and the videos of the Press Conferences, trailers, etc, will be on the PSN for sure by the end of the week, if not on the day they are recorded. it's not the end of the world.

This is actually great news! and its real innovative by Sony to broadcast their E3 stuff from within Home, but this DOESNT mean that they wont have any content for Playstation Store.

And think about how cool it will be to see other events live in Home when it arrives instead:D
