It’s the end of the year and, like everyone else, I get retrospective. I begin to think about what’s come before, the games I’ve enjoyed and why. From The Walking Dead to XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Journey I’ve realized all of these titles have had one thing in common — they focus on forming relationships with the player.
I’ve learned to love a child like a daughter, mourned the loss of soldiers under my command, and traveled to distant lands with strangers. 2012 has been an exciting and emotionally exhausting year.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown rebooted the series back in 2012, and has since inspired numerous new strategy game series to be born.
If someone gets into this I'd recommend getting the enemy within version. It's got all the dlc included so it's the better version. Wish the author would've atleast mentioned it. I didn't see it.
Fantastic game though. Xcom 2 is top notch also. I've spent countless hours in these games.
The composer behind Journey, Austin Wintory, recently had a chance to revisit the classic game, just in time for its tenth anniversary.
My fav indie game ever, played this on ps4 and ps5. Too bad it does not have a plat trophy.
Jenova Chen told us about the development of the game.
You did not learn to "love a child like a daughter" by playing The Walking Dead adventure game. lol!
