Examiner: I have fond memories of Another World when I first played it during the Sega Genesis days. It was called Out Of This World – to avoid confusion with the Another World soap opera - and it featured mind-blowing polygon graphics. For someone who was used to hand-drawn sprites and blocky pixels on my CRT TV, this was like staring into the future. It was as if Doc Brown came to my house (in this case, my mom who bought the game for me at the local mall) to deliver me the game from 2011. My 1993 brain could hardly process what I was seeing at the time.
COGconnected: 27 years after its initial release, cult classic Another World finds its way onto the Switch. Unfortunately, the shine that had made it so special has rusted away, revealing a game that could only be considered good in Another World. The 90’s, maybe?
DotEmu and The Digital Lounge today announced that Another World, also known as Out of This World in North America and Outer World in Japan, will launch for Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2018.
Hardcore Gamer: Fortunately, there is another way to get your hands on Another World’s soundtrack in this format. The official Another World store has just added a blue vinyl edition which is, as of this writing, in stock for $30.
The 25th anniversary release was missing the console release soundtrack which actually had music during the levels which the original on the Amiga didn't. So this soundtrack is gonna pretty much suck.
