How come last time I heard about Netflix use, the PS3 was 1st and Wii second?

@Dante112:
Yeah I read that, but still the title suggest otherwise.

"Freewheel is only measuring “professional content” that runs with ads, because that’s how it makes its living. So that means it’s counting stuff from companies like NBC, CBS, ESPN and Vevo, but not YouTube cat videos. *******It’s also not measuring Netflix usage.********* On the other hand, this isn’t a poll or sample, but data compiled by the company’s own ad servers."

"That is, more people are watching Web stuff on Microsoft’s machine"

The Wii and the PS3 weren't included as well since it isn't measuring Netflix usage. Just iPad, iPhone, Android, and Ipod. I think this is just another Apple vs Google vs Microsoft article.

Edit: @ Godmars

Misleading title? Most probably won't read the article anyway lol.

I don't see how this article can make the claim "Most Popular Video Player in the U.S," when it doesn't include PS3 or Wii and as Godmars said, they had higher netflix usage(which is the most popular form of streaming video)

Microsoft leads in ads, who would have guessed?

Godmars2901927d ago

And I really have to reason why we, consumers, are getting articles like this which favor corporate interest.

"If you want to sell ads, expect to pay more on XBL. You'll get better coverage, so expect to pay more."

That's what this is saying to me.

Microsoft definitely wants in on the entertainment hub side of things. I just hope they don't spread themselves too thin, they'll need some great offerings right off the bat next generation so they can gain all the hardcore gamers like they had at the start of this generation.

I use my 360 as an entertainment hub. I prefer the 360 Netflix browser over the PS3 one, I just got cable tv and I can use HBO Go on the console without switching over to the cable box. I use the PS3 for movies because I have the remote for it. The 360 also plays some "videos" on my PC that PS3 won't run.

GamingPerson1927d ago

make sure you get vlc player.

SKUD1927d ago

Not sure if serious?. The PC plays everything with the proper drive n software. Changes you can't make on the x360 n PS3. I do find however the PS3 plays more burned optical media then the X360. Especially DL-DVD's. Chokes like hell on 360.

ElementX1927d ago

Well some of my videos aren't supported on PS3. I get an error message maybe because it's in a Windows format? I'm not sure. All I know is I get all ready to go and bam, file not supported. I switch to my 360 and they play fine. I have a phat PS3 maybe that has something to do with it. I don't play burned media so I'm not sure what type of support that has.

Fylus1927d ago (Edited 1927d ago )

You prefer the Netflix browser for Xbox??? Have fun lagging through the selection and barely being able to load up movies. Oh, and if you wanna include Kinect, enjoy watching a movie only to be interrupted by the Kinect rewinding your show when someone on said show says ANYTHING with the letter "X" or even makes the sound of "eks".

I'm not even trolling, I watch netflix on the Xbox at my friends house ALL the time, and it is SO frustrating.

*2 week old router with High-speed internect connection by the way.

Hence the rant. Sorry, it just drives me crazy:/

Titanz1927d ago

It's a good system (sorta how people discredit the Wii). It's a popular console, and a lot of consumers are content with it (even though many of you, believe the opposite).

I finally got Mass effect 3 today. I use my Xbox 360 to play games, watch YouTube, sky etc. it is really an all round entertainment hub.
