Only 18.6% of Players Have Completed CoD: Black Ops Single-Player Campaign

Its not surprising....most do not buy the game for its story line....its the multiplayer that gets them all crazy....their really is not much thought process to just picking up and signing online and shooting other enemy players....that is why millions like this game so much...not too bright of a bunch if you ask me.

On top of all that the game had an option to load the game straight into the MP when you boot the disc lol.

Ok it's a little longer than that, but even if you are only about an average player it should only take about 6 hours to finish at most.

18.6% of a game that has sold over 20 million copies. That's still atleast 3.7 million people that have completed the game.

And im one of em. It's sad really. Imho it had the best story line for any CoD.

It's funny tho people were harking on BF stating it was either a terrible game or just terrible story. Yet if you look at other shooters, I'm sure you will find a similar story all around.

I never could get into MP games, Sure I dont mind a few co-op missions, horde modes, and Co-Op Campaigns like Borderlands, but other than that, I dont see what the point of competitive multiplayer is. You shoot, you kill, you die, you respawn. Along the way you gain experience for guns and vehicels and such, but whats the point?

At least with SP you get a story and characters and some pretty epic set pieces, even with FPS campaigns which is often considered nothing more than a training ground for MP.

i think many people play the campaign, but they just don't finish it. i'd feel super guilty if i jumped straight into the MP after just buying the game.

But it was pretty underwhelming for the most part...

You'd be surprised, a lot of people don't actually play the campaigns in the FPS that they play. A lot of the mainstream audience most likely jumps straight into the multiplayer. This doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Yeah, while I enjoyed the different settings I found the story to be somehow hard to follow (even though I understood the plot). going from X to Y, to Z place constantly is hard to follow

no but I think Activision need to seriously consider selling the multiplayer version of the game separately by itself, maybe as a PSN/XBL download. maybe with Spec Ops included at a cost of $25$-$35. that means that I have some money left over for map packs.

my trophy count for MW2 stands at 1% come now Activision make it happen...

I would've definitely bought MW3 day 1 without waiting for reviews and reactions of the MP had this been the case

Black Ops is the only CoD campaign I didn't complete. I thought it was boring. Black Ops over all was really boring.

As some others have mentioned above, the single player campaign for Black Ops was pretty dumb. In all honesty the main reason I'm buying MW3 is for the campaign...MW2's was really awesome and I want to finish the story.

Ironic thing is you can set the game to go straight to multiplayer so most people probably have forgotten what the other menu looks like haha

Not surprising, I had to force myself through it....was so boring at times. It didn't get good till the later levels. It took Treyarchs standard ambush after ambush formula, combined it with the WaW constant enemy respawn unless you move up problem, and added in your standard FPS "interrogation" cutscenes. Why waste your time when the whole reason you bought the game was for the online?

I do give them credit for making it lengthy though, just wish it was more meaty with the story.

that is seriously pathetic! People can complain all they want about COD but IMO blackops story was pretty good & i enjoyed it.

I thought i was "normal" as a gamer with an inner drive to HAVE to finish the games i start. Guess im the minority.

Edit: The really sad part is this game was like 5 hours long as are most FPS you can finish it in one day if you are determined!

I am pretty sure that the figure is similar for most games. A lot of gamers hoard games and barely play them. It takes time and dedication to finish a game.
