patcher officaly paid by activision

solidworm4614d ago

i wont be one of those sheep, baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaa.

Bullshit hating aside - if you think about the amount of people who buy all of the CoD DLC packs for the year it's a ton. Tell these people you can get all the DLC's for a discount + other features then they'd be dumb not to pay it if they'll be buying the DLC anyway.

Yes yes we know "cod suxx" "fuk dis game" etc etc.

evrfighter4614d ago

Subscriptions are harder to sell to parents then one time fees. its these people that buy the dlc for their pimple faced teenage kids.

I don't see it doing well but knowing activision they'll label 100 subs as a major success while the panicking goes on behind closed doors.

lucifon4611d ago (Edited 4611d ago )

It's not recurring though. If little timmy says he needs the money so he can get all the map packs then most parents wouldn't know the difference.

I think this is much better than EA's Online Pass or project $10! You know the one that makes you pay $10 for a code to play online if you bought the game used.

This is aimed squarely at the COD fans, those of us that enjoy playing the game online and will purchase the DLC anyway. Call me a sheep all you want, I like the series and am excited for the monthly DLC ELITE provides. I just pre-ordered the Hardened Edition from Amazon. Baaaaaaaaa! :)

Peace
LB

Online pass is not comparable...i think theres is battle log and its free ..plus cod dlc is overpriced...so you probably end up paying what other companies normally charge..but what do I know...yes you are a sheep..i kid ...cod is a fun game with a lot of people but not gods gift to gaming

GroundsKeeperJimbo4613d ago (Edited 4613d ago )

I'm pretty sure BC2 players ended up getting most of thier content free. A one-time $10 charge is better than having to buy XBL twice a year.

Look, to be honest the FTC should just stop.

MS has A/B and nothing has really changed yet...if you are worried about 5-10 years from now...just drop it cause the future is unpredictable.

Take this week's news, that 4 Xbox exclusive are going Multiplatform.

Yeah man I think Microsoft here getting to probe is kinda wrong unless you only have accessed to necessary information not complete access imo.

Abriael79d ago

Obviously they aren't giving them the password to Sony's computers and telling them "help yourself."

Eonjay78d ago

"Microsoft allowed to probe Sony and Ubisoft"

Sounds hot...

ApocalypseShadow79d ago (Edited 79d ago )

Maybe Microsoft should also talk and get help from their "congressional influencers" at The Capital. They had plenty to say on the matter before the acquisition. They are mighty quiet after the purchase went through. Almost as if they had a stake in the matter.

Abriael79d ago

Could you perhaps explain how this is related? I'm honestly curious since you seem to bring it up rather often.

S2Killinit78d ago

He is pointing out how corrupt MS is, and how money talks. I think.

KwietStorm_BLM78d ago

I would say read between the lines but it's pretty damn clear as it is.

Bathyj78d ago

You should be careful upsetting Sony too much Microsoft.
You might need them to sell your subpar games soon.

TornRaptor78d ago

The games will become the best things ever all of a sudden.

Bathyj78d ago

Yeah I really doubt that.
I'm struggling to think of one I really cared about missing.

Hofstaderman78d ago

Bwhahahaha. Ain't that the truth.

Mr_cheese78d ago

The only exclusive im personally interested in from Microsoft is Elderscrolls and that's not even got s release date.

Everything else is genuinely of none interest.

OtterX78d ago

Microsoft never waits for the probing to be consensual.

derek78d ago

This isn't a major victory. They're essentially being allowed to call witnesses in regards to agreements they reached with Sony and Ubisoft which was initially blocked because Microsoft didn't make the request through the proper channels. This case is dead, there is no way the ftc will be allowed to unwind this acquisition.

Sephiroushin78d ago

they probably know case is death but want some proof to sue them for a few millions regarding other stuff, the ftc loves to sue everyone, be sure that as soon as all this end they will just go sue MS and end in a settlement.
