Weak Console Sales and Final Fantasy XIV Trouble Lead to Losses at Square Enix

Wada has single handily destroyed squareenix. The name square-enix used to mean the best games now it means mediocre at best. Wada's personal vendetta against sony has only hurt the gaming industry as a whole. Just hurry up and leave wada.

Can't say I agree with the portables comment. ff advent was bad and 3rd birthday was meh. Re mastering a game for the ds isn't exactly groundbreaking.

2009 did well because surprise ff13. FF games always sell well. Why do you think square is rushing thru to make a sequel to 13? They developed 14 at a chinese developer that horribly destroyed it. The game has been a huge embarrassment to square-enix as a whole. Wada is looking incredibly bad right now in japan. Square is a sinking ship.

OK seriously PC Gaming is really the reason for weak sales because its just better and the majority of people in Europe and Asia know this and the Americans are too macho to play pretty looking Square Enix games. But the problem is Square Enix cannot totally shift to PC because the piracy is high so they make half-assed MMOs which fail. I expect even worse losses in the future and the only thing to save them might be old Eidos studios making recognizable western games.

Sounds like Squeenix may just be approaching the end of their time. Here's hoping the real talent like Nomura begin jumping ship now, hopefully to Atlus or something.

Heck, maybe in a year or two, Atlus will be able to buy out Squeenix and retain all the IPs, so we mught have real talented devs working on future FF titles!

maybe this can teach them a lesson in actually focusing on real jrpgs. also, that Kayne and lynch games are not good at all to me. who actually bought those games? final fantasy xiv is a mmorpg, which is not my thing. why can't they just go back to making final fantasy 9,10, or even x-2 type final fantasy games? i know they can still make good games because they have the budget. it's just they want to cater to a common domoninator of gamers out there which i understand. you should never sacrifice your true fan base to do that. it would be a disaster.

when they actually started to advertise final fantasy at the super bowl, that's when i knew they that games was not for the hardcore fan-base. it was for casuals,and yet i still bought it because i have been a jrpg/final fantasy fan since the ps1/when Pokemon came out.the only hope left now is nomura because most of the best square enix games have him evolved in it.

The only thing can fix this are:

Square divorced from Enix and make Squaresoft again (minus wada)
or
Wada resign by himself

I hope with this way the old employee like Matsuno, Sakaguchi, or Uematsu will back and handled Wada messed. So we can see the glory days of Squaresoft again...amin!

I hope when FF14 comes out for the PS3 that it's free to play online, i really want to get into it but i don't really want to have to pay. I really enjoyed FF12, it was my first time playing a game with MMO type elements and i really enjoyed it.
