Orcs Must Die! preview: Tower defense with a twist (Armless Octopus)

Even weeks later, all the PAX news still hasn’t come forward. We got the chance for another hands on with another title that was playable there. Orcs Must Die! Is a dungeon/tower defense game currently in development by Robot Entertainment. Comprised largely of former Ensemble Studios employees, older gamers will remember them for their well received RTS Age of Empires which was popular on the PC in the late 90s. Most recently, their last title before being disbanded was Xbox’s Halo Wars. I had the opportunity to catch up with designer Dave Leary, who walked me through their upcoming title, and here’s what I had to say.

They definitely appear pretty similar. Difficult to say if one is a ripoff since they're both upcoming games and don't know what their development schedules are like.

Dungeon Defenders is out on PC (Steam) months ago. It was suppose to come to PSN and probably 360 but it got delayed for NGP.

I was looking forward to buying it for co-op play.

EB: ‘Orcs Must Die Unchained’ Review – Orc Slaying At Its Finest

Entertainment Buddha: I have a long history with the Orcs Must Die franchise. I have played each entry ever since it released and quite honestly Unchained sort of flew under the radar for me. When I saw it went to a free to play model I feared it would deter from the overall function and fun of the game. After playing a few matches and playing around with different characters I realized that the fun never left the game and that if anything, Unchained just added new elements and layers that made it a better title.
