if sony puts the price berween 249 and 299.99 the consumer sweet spot for hand held devices i will buy it in a heartbeat. If it gets 399.99 or above thats a danger zone for consumer to have an hand held gaming device.

well we know its not 599 at least lol. i think a $400 model is too high so a $300 wifi and $350 3g model would be possible. i dont think its going to cost $250 that seems a little unrealistic.

The funny thing about it all is, it was worth it! I paid that at the beginning of the PS3 life cycle and I've been very happy with it. It's just the cheap skates who can't see value in the long run.

My guess is $349 for the Wifi one and $400 for the one with 3G. When you consider the PSPGO was $250 and that had nothing this thing has..ya. Also I'm wondering what the games are going to cost. I wouldn't be surprised if there $50-$60 like standard Xbox 360 and PS3 games.

Don't be shocked if the PSP2 cost $400 for it's top end model. Sony is probably losing money selling at this price. The iphone4 and other smartphones alike cost $599 and it's not as powerful.

That's what I was thinking 400~450 seems like the price range that they would well not necessarily need but would like to go for. We could be shocked though. So far I'd guess from 379~499 perhaps?

Yeah, I know you an use bluetooth headphones with the PSP2 but not many people use them yet.

In NZ at the estimated prices it may sit around the $600-$700 mark. However, add on a 3G plan and you could easily add another $30-$40 month - we get shafted in NZ over 3G plans.

However, big question remains as to who will even provide 3G coverage for the PSP2. Took Apple ages to get a provider. Hope they make it so you can interchange the sim cards so you can pick your own provider.

£250-£350 in the UK. £299.99 being the sweet spot. Sony will sell this at a loss no doubt...but how much of a loss? This piece of kit is a powerhouse, make no mistake. So it begs the question as to how much Sony can sell it for, while staying competitive with 3DS AND iPhone,iPad etc etc.

Hmm.., I wonder. That device has more features than my phone (HTC HD 2) and when that came out, I paid £499 offline for it.....hell, with 3g you may be able to use it as a phone lol Put Skype on it and you have!

it wont be that high at call considering that Sony will work something out for the 3g model. the thing is If it's the Wifi model it'll prolly come right in at $250-$299 with the 3g model coming in at $350 and subsidized by carriers. The Phones which are less powerfull and stand alone cost anywhere between $400-$700 unsubsidized by phone carriers and that without an upgrade so i'm pretty sure what will happen at launch is that every carrier in the US will Sell this on a data plan 3g enabled for $350 and the wifi model will be at local video game vendors for prolly 100 bucks less or 50 bucks less.. for me. the thought of playing KZ multiplayer over 3g mobile broad band is more enticing than say Wifi. for those that are gonna whine the wifi modle will be yuour best bid.

Because it is a new technology with all the bells and whistle. And it is portable gadget. My guess will be $499. Then after 1 year to 1 year and half it will go down to $399. In 2 to 3 yrs it will be either $349 or $299.

Hehe indeed it wont be 600 bucks, at that rate no one would purchase a handheld console at this price, with 600 i can get a PS3 Slim 250GB and a couple of games and an accessory or two.
