You'll need a pair of PlayStation Move controllers to get the Platinum in Sports Champions

The people over PS3Trophies.com have apparently got an early look at the trophies included in the PlayStation Move launch title Sports Champions. And one of them asks the user to play the game with two motion controllers.

$50 extra to get a trophy that means nothing, I'll pass.

EDIT: You're kinda slow aren't you? You need to spend $50 extra if you want to get that trophy, that $50 is towards another Move controller. Honestly, my comment was not that hard to understand.

IRetrouk5045d ago

35 pound for a trophy? no, 35 pound for an extra move controller?, yes please, already preordered 2 moves plus 2 navs, cant wait.

mantisimo5045d ago

....a lot of games would need 2 nav controllers anyway so don't see much of a problem.

You can always pick another up later when more games come out. Then plat if you wish.

Still personally not bothered about any of the motion controllers though.

HeroXIV5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

Haven't pre-order yet but I plan on doing the same. It'll be a more fun game with both controllers anyway, and people say it's overpriced but a LOT of official controllers -- even the plain DS3 controller, are quite expensive.

BryanBegins5045d ago

The sad thing is that even with two Move, the experience is limited. Because yes you have two motion controls, but NO nav controller, meaning: no analog stick to move your character.

I still think Sony made a mistake. They should have included a sphere on the nav controller. Then it would make sense.

Elwenil5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

You can use a DS3 in place of the Nav controller so you don't "need" a Nav controller at all. It would probably be more comfortable, but not absolutely necessary.

Edit: Ah, I see what you are saying now. I guess you would be sort of limited to games that you basically stay mostly in place with two Move controllers. I wonder if there is something keeping them from making a controller that does both since it would seem sort of obvious once you think about it.

IRetrouk5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

they have dpads on them, so if they need to implement movment you could use those no? i spent most of my gaming time playing games using the dpad, im gonna file this under non issue

@T9X69 the reason i have a problem with kinect is that it dont work, if it did i would have no probs paying the 130 pounds they are asking for it, its simple, move works kinect dosnt, and dont say im just a fanboy either 73000 thats seventy three thousand gamerscore and still climbing.

stealth disagree, why not tell me why you do and we can have a discusion about it?

BryanBegins5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

@Elwenil: exactly, if you use two Move controllers, then it's either a on-rail shooter, or a game where the movements are controlled by the computer (like tennis table).

I really don't understand why sony did that. The only explanation I can find is to make the Move "look" cheaper: you can simply use the dualshock 3, so technically, you don't need to buy another Move or the Nav for any game. Still disappointing, I would love to have a really good motion controller.

sikbeta5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

@Johnny_Bravo

Of course you'll pass, don't you need a PS3 first? -____-

O-T

Not a problem, you can wait and when decide to buy another Move, something everyone will end up doing, you'll get the Plat....

The Great Melon5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

@BryanBegins

I too wished Sony would have added the sphere to the end of the navigation controller. It really wouldn't have cost that much. Also does the nav controller have accelerometers in it? If so, the bulb was an even more missed opportunity because it would have been able to recreate the movement capabilities of the Move completely.

I understand kind of why they left it off though. I don't people would find it very easy to move the controller while trying to move the analog stick. It just doesn't work well. However the track could be useful for certain situations when switching into menus and stuff of that sort.

blumatt5045d ago

This isn't that big a deal. Most people will buy two Move controllers anyway. Hell, look how many Wii owners buy AT LEAST two Wii-motes (if not three or four). This will be a non-issue. Really, it's ideal to have at least two Move controllers anyway so you can play two players.

rdgneoz35045d ago

Yep, many will be getting 2 seeing as it does have games you can play with more than 1 person... Hell, the Time Crisis bundle looks sweet for co-op (3 games, $40, very nice).

jneul5045d ago

I am getting the starter pack and my niece is getting the extra controller lol, so we will be fine.

Theonik5045d ago

Or someone that just wants the trophy could exercise some common sense and borrow a controller from a friend if they get move.

dan_chan895045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

@ Johnny_Bravo your the slow one lol.

RyuStrife5045d ago

Nothing wrong with that. If you're going to play against another person, you need 2 anyways

T9X695045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

If PS3 fans don't have a problem with buying 2, then why do so many PS3 fans have a problem with Kinects price? Kinect cost $150 for 2 players and one game, Move cost $150 for 2 players with one game, and another $30-$50 more if you don't own a two DS3 or want to use the sub-controller.

Not saying you particularly, but when Kinects price was announced it was flooded with PS3 fans saying it was to high, but then they turned around and said they was buying 2 Moves.

@IRetrouk - In your opinion it doesn't, but have you tried it? I have tried it, and it does work, not like MS makes it out to be, but it does work. That wasn't my point though, my point is there both Motion gaming accessories that cost the same for 2 players (possible more for Move, from what I stated above) yet people say one product is priced to high, when they cost the same.

@rdgneoz3 - I asked a question in which you obviously don't agree with, that does not make me a troll. There are 6 different reports to lose bubbles, trolling is just one of them.

Anyways, going with the DS3 isn't cheap unless you already own them, DS3 cost $20 more than a sub-controller. The PS Eye really doesn't factor into the price because it comes with the bundle that includes a game. My point has nothing to do with what Kinect/Move was suppose to do, that isn't doing. Its the fact of, if you want to play 2 players with Move it will cost you the same as Kinect if not more. There is no way of going around to try and make Move look cheaper for 2 players, it going to cost you at least $150.

@ArchangelMike - You're totally missing my point. Your opinion has nothing to do with my point, you think it fails, other that have tried it don't, you don't speak for everyone. If you're going to reply to my comment, make your comment about what I said, instead of going off why you don't understand why people defend Kinect. It has nothing to do with defending the tech behind Kinect, it has to do with the price.

rdgneoz35045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

@T9X69 Because kinect fans seem to think you need like 2 nav controllers when you factor in prices for 2 player games, when you can use DS3 if you want to be cheap. And since people thought you could play 4 people at once on Kinect for the same price as 2 people on Move. Also, Move is cheaper for some people for 2 players, seeing as the PS Eye has been out for a while now.

And as for 2 DS3, most people have 2 controllers that will be wanting to play 2 player games. If they didn't, they'd just be playing games alone and only need the 1 that came with the system.

And as for the OT, you still only need 1 Move to play the game. You can get another if you want to, but its not necessary. If you're gonna die if you don't get your platinum, then ...
Heh, I remember the days when people just played games for the fun and not for epeen points.

Edit: Why I waste my time replying to a troll, didn't see the bubbles at first...

ArchangelMike5045d ago

It's not PS3 fans that have a probplem with Kinect. It's informed gamers in general who are able to recognise when they are being sold duff tech! unfortunately on N4G anyone who makes such comments is labelled a PS3 fanboy. I really don't understand why people would defend a piece of technology that has been proved time and agian that falls short in what it was supposed to be!

Rainstorm815045d ago

Move and Kinect are similarly priced, although my personal opinion is that move is worth the 150 and kinect isn't......Why??

Well you said it yourself...."I have tried it, and it does work, not like MS makes it out to be, but it does work"

If it doesnt work the way MS makes it out to be then ............IT....DOESNT....WO RK!!!!!

A pile of shyt could be $1.00...and i'd say that its overpriced.

dizzleK5045d ago

@t9x69

you're absolutely right but the cultists here will never admit it, their indoctrination is too strong.

Boody-Bandit5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

@T9X69: "If PS3 fans don't have a problem with buying 2, then why do so many PS3 fans have a problem with Kinects price?"

It's not just PS3 fans that have a problem with Kinects pricing. It's people with common sense that have a problem with Kinect pricing and Kinect in general. I own both consoles and have no plans at this time to purchase Kinect. Why? I am not a casual gamer and have little to no interest in casual games.

Kinect will only work with titles specifically made for Kinect and they are not targeted at the 360 core audience but casual gamers. Everything I have seen thus far of Kinect shows limitations.

Move will work with nearly all games made from here on out that will appeal to casual and hardcore gaming fans. Move appears to be the most accurate motion controller on the market. That is reasons why it is the more viable option.

MS is trying to pull in the casual gamer to their console while ignoring their existing user base. Sony has made a controller for their existing user base but it will also appeal to casual gamers so they can expand their audience.

IdleLeeSiuLung5045d ago

The fanboys here are full of BS! Now that the cat is out of the bag, there will be more games that require two wands to fully enjoy, suddenly that "low" price Sony was selling them isn't as rosy anymore, it is "now" about the experience.

Well suck it, because Kinect can give you an experience none of the other can match including both PS Move and Wii.

To top it off, you might now have to buy 4 wands for the PS Move if you want to play two player games. That is at least $200 alone! But sure, just go ahead buy it as you will enjoy tacked on game mechanics on all your games! Enjoy!

----------------------------- -------

See what I did there? That is what typical fanboy response is! I can do it too!

With that said, it is an additional accessory (Kinect or PS Move) so you don't have to buy it. It doesn't limit what you do know, so why the hate?

nycredude5045d ago

You guys just stop defending Kinect. No one is hating on it cause it's made by MS. They are hating on it cuase we are core gamers and nothing shown by kinect resemble core gaming. If you guys want to play with their sad ass casual lineup then fine admit it but please stop the BS like Kinect is for core. Maybe in 2 years it will have something but now it's a fail in my book.

UltimateIdiot9115045d ago

Lies, all lies. We all know us gamers live in our mom's basement and depending on dad's cc.

Yeah, I don't see why most of us won't end up with at least two Move controllers. For the Wii, my brother end up gettiing 4 Wiimotes. As for the price of an additional Move controller, just keep an eye on a good deal. I got my DS3 new when it first release for 40. So I can't see why I won't find a Move controller for around 40 new around release. I'm sure most of us know how to use the internet and there are quite a few sites to find good deals.

sack_boi5045d ago

And you'll need two more Move controllers if you want to play with a friend.

BattleAxe5045d ago

@ Johnny,

Why would you even buy that game if you're not going to buy the PS MOVE?

Good thing I don't play games for trophies.

table5045d ago

Same here, I gave up on trophies a few months ago. This is exactly what I was talking about in another article about online trophies exploiting us to buy DLC. They can shove their trophies up their arse, I'm finished with it.

spunnups5045d ago

Me neither. I did when the fad was fresh, but now I just play the games.

On a side note, Sony has a lot to prove to me as far as peripherals go if they even want me to consider the PS Move. I've had the Playstation Eye since it was released and besides a couple PSN mini type games and Burnout Paradise, I've yet to really utilize the damn thing.

NJShadow5045d ago

Why would you have Sports Champions WITHOUT Move? Seems pretty pointless to me...

BiggCMan5045d ago

as much as i love what the move has to offer, i do have to admit that it would be quite expensive to own enough of them along with the nav, for 4 people. 50x4=200, then 30x4=120. so 320 for the full experience. pretty steep, but u could always just buy them at seperate times. then again 4 ds3's are 220 or somethin like that, or if u really want the maximum, which is 7, its like 400. i really dont think anyone has 7 ds3's though, nor is there any game that supports it yet. maybe smackdown vs raw but i cant confirm that.

SolidSystem5045d ago

you cant have 4 players.

bluetooth supports 7 slots

each device takes a slot.

someone is left with no nav.
move with a full set = 3 max. no 4 player split screen shooters here.

jneul5045d ago

most 4 player games on wii = 4 wiimotes no nunchuck, you could have 4 player the same way with move, but space gets cramped with 4 players so most people just do 2 player.

SolidSystem5045d ago

Jneul

are we realy looking to the wii for a real multiplayer comparision? the wii gets party games with a flick of the wii-mote wins.

i'm just pointing out getting something like Resistance split screen with 3 friends using move would be impossible.

BiggCMan5045d ago

right, right. my bad. wasnt thinkin straight, 4am here. but yea ur right, since the bluetooth only supports seven, then a game which requires the nav can only support 3, without the nav though, 4 max, cuz the eye only tracks 4 move spheres at a time, im pretty sure i heard this through those 2 head dev guys for the move, anton mikalov, and the other one.

edhe5045d ago

Oh.. dear?

Really?

it runs out of controller slots? What about when you've got a couple of dualshocks on the go - then have a chat pad on one then you decided to play and you have two moves, 2 navs - then your mate comes over, and.. well TOUGH SHIT.

HAHA!

DrDreadlox5045d ago

Only 4 controllers can be used in conjunction with the Eye, be it Move controllers, Nav controllers or even the DS3. That means;
1) 2xMove + 2xNav(or DS3) = 2players OR
1) 4xMove = 4players
Keep in mind that some 4 players party games are likely to be "pass the controller" type.

Cenobia5045d ago

Kind of an idiot aren't you...

You can't have 7 devices running -simultaneously-. It's not like the PS3 reserves one bluetooth slot for one device for all of eternity.

You should probably think things over before you post.

SolidSystem5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

and people keep spouting off that you only need 1 move controller.
its obvious sony is perfectly content with having users required to use 2 move controllers.

putting it in the same price range of all other motion solutions.

@theonik true enough, still this sets a presedence that its ok to single out those with and those without 2. I'll have 2. I'll want 2 if i ever try multiplayer.

I just dont like the precedence being set. no game should require 2. other wise the nav should have gotten a sphere on the end, and then you buy a 60dollar or what ever bundle with 1 move and 1 nav, which toget do everything.

strickers5045d ago

yeah because 80 quid is just like 130.

SolidSystem5045d ago

in USD
$99 move starter kit + champion game
$40 move controller

total cost $140

nice try.

Theonik5045d ago (Edited 5045d ago )

Requiring 2 move controllers and asking for 2 for the optimum experience is 2 different things.

Edit: Yeah i totally agree that the Nav should have had a sphere in the end but i think the reson they did that was that they wanted to keep the Nav cheaper than the DS3 and also make it so you can replace it with a DS3. Still bugs me though. Also annoyed by the lack of an analogue stick or Dpad on the main control.

hesido5045d ago

I think you meant Move controller with an analogue stick. The second move in your left hand would back as what the nav does now. It would be so much better, and you could have dual wielding and free motion games.

jneul5045d ago

most people will get the starter kit or 1move controller and then upgrade on number of controllers on the next month:P:P

jznrpg17h ago

I don’t collect games for their value I collect games I enjoyed playing. Many games I own are worth a lot of money but they must be games I want to play for me to purposely collect them. Most of this list isn’t games I would enjoy. I may have some of these games because I bought my friends PS2/3 Collection years ago and I never actually looked what was in it. It was a couple hundred games though still sitting in a box and I’m sure there are some good valuable games. I should go sift through it sometime.

Profchaos15h ago

I tend to agree for the most part rarity is linked to price
It's unusual that a rare game was popular with a few notable exceptions. Games released at the tail end of a consoles lifecycle which became popular years or decades later like little Samson on the NES or earthbound on SNES.
Or games that were banned after release in certain regions

Looking at this list there's nothing I'd be trying to collect either most of these games were fairly unpopular and bashed on their release leading to the scarcity seen now.
Especially NBA elite which I remember actually watching the news about how it got cancelled but had already shipped to retail it was so bad .

Another PS3 hidden gems list, and yet again Time Crisis 4 and Time Crisis Razin' Storm get snubbed. Such fun games, that shouldn't be forgotten. If only we got a home port of Time Crisis 5: Mastermind Edition.

WET is something I wish they'd remake, they had so many great ideas but not all of them were executed properly

It had a lot of potential

Also Wanted Weapons of Fate is another game that had some new fun gameplay ideas.
