Yahoo: Several titles that were expected to be big sellers -- or at least impressive ones -- have fallen flat, the victim of the economy, gamers’ continued interest with other titles or just plain old bad luck.
There’s still time to recover, of course -- the year’s only half over. But while these six titles may have mostly met critical expectations, they still failed to set the sales charts ablaze.
Alan Wake, from Max Payne and Control creator Remedy, is a horror classic, prompting one player to buy 4,000 copies that don’t even work.
Kind of a goody story...
On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.
Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.
Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.
Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.
Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄
So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.
I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.
Cultured Vultures: In the spirit of preserving some kind of history of this industry, we’ve decided to list some of the best games that you just simply can’t get hold of digitally at the minute.
I just started playing Spec op. I've had it for years on steam and forgot about it. Such a good game.
Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.
Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.
wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.
Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.
Alan Wake 2 continues the writer's story, 13 years later.
AW is a good game when they'll release the sequel they shouldnt put it against other big title games like a Multiplatform ROCKSTAR game. thats the dumbest move ever
yes i was and the game is still 69.99$ right now at gamestop/ebgames Canada and I dont buy Pre-owned games . That dint stop me from Playing it. I havent bought it but I've played it.
Disappointing sales maybe, but not games.
I need AW anyways. I'm gonna buy it soon.
What about 3D Dot Game and Modnation Racers? They had very poor sales. Why so much hate against Alan Wake in recent articles? It's one of the best games this year.
I bought Modnation Racers over Blur and Split/Second and I was a kinda dissapointed I wish I wouldn't have bought any of them. I'm not much of a Racing game fan and the only other kart racer I've ever had was CTR and I loved that game.
