Kinect: what the web made of Microsoft's motion controller

Guardian UK: With the renaming of Project Natal, Microsoft's motion based control system for the Xbox 360, Microsoft faces the challenge of differentiating its re-branded Kinect device from its immediate competitors – Sony's PlayStation Move and the venerable Nintendo Wii. (Kinect, Microsoft, Project Natal, Xbox 360)

The web made them nothing!
They brought this on themselves by showing pre recorded and staged demos!
And then the press got onto them and pointed their skinny scary fingers. MS promised a revolution in gaming but showed us what an Eyetoy and a WII can do.

Who cares about all the stuff you guys are saying?

NO MILO = FAIL

Their main target audience (casual gaming pedophiles) are not going to buy this anymore.

Kinect will most likely blow away Move and sell extremely well. MS made a mistake with the staged demos but overall the technology looks impressive.

Wii is done!

At this stage Kinect has a lot of catching up to do.
We have already seen a lot of what Move can do and we haven't even gotten to Sony's conference yet.

As for Wii being done...isn't all this motion stuff because MS and Sony want a part of their market.

Wii is done? Are you completely mental? LOL!

gamestop priced it at $149 which is ridiculous considering the current lineup of games
blazBlue  +   1777d ago
The web fell asleep over Kinect, that's what happened.

Well, someone lost a lot of money this week. Oh well, at least those Xbox Live fees should pay them off pretty fast.

Apart from the fantastic looking Halo Reach, the press conference was shockingly bad.

Dis-Kinect
Overall it was just bland!! To much time was focused on Kinect and not Games. I thought that was the purpose of e3
