SteelSeries WoW Gaming Mouse Adds Functionality

SteelSeries has announced that its high-spec gaming mouse, designed specifically for World of Warcraft in cooperation with Blizzard Entertainment, received some new features in WoW's last patch, 3.2.2.

The game now recognises the mouse as its own unique peripheral and distinguishes each of its 15 buttons as unique mouse buttons.

It's quite a lot of money, but considering all those features, I reckon it's worth it. I certainly like mine :)

Your's is cool, I give you that much..

Worth the money? Hm, I'll have to think about that!

Cogo5310d ago

I suppose a load of those functions still can be used in almost any game. It's all software in the end anyway.

is this the same SteelSeries WoW mouse that came out quite some time ago? just a warning to people that prefer a small mouse, the main mouse buttons (standard left and right click) and kinda far apart and can be a bit of a strain to hold your index and middle finger apart for long periods. Apart from that its great.

Amazing that there's a market for so game-specific accessories, PC-wise (obviously loads of it on consoles)

Cogo5310d ago

While consoles have a lot easier time, few accessories are completely exclusive to one game. Since those are even more expensive, it's kind of a necessity to allow them to be used cross-games.

With 10-11 million players, even a fraction of those buying the mouse woud still represent pretty amazing sales figures...

WoW is more than a game, it's a big community, and that in itself helps this "extra" items to be sold. The bloody beer jugs were sold out in a few days, and they were like 50 euros!

Leord5310d ago

Lol, you're taking this awfully serious :)

Malfurion5310d ago

I wonder how much of the money goes to Blizzard...

evrfighter5310d ago

It's more than a game it's a way of life...

I remember being told this by a DnD nerd back in high school. As I continued to make fun of DnD.

Towards the end of our senior year I remember him standing next to our group for no apparent reason when the school officer and principal came and handcuffed him. He had brought a butcher knife to school in his backpack.

I still wonder to this day if he had a hit list and who was on top.
