Kombo: So, I've been taking a look at Dead Space: Extraction, the upcoming Wii game that promises similar thrills as its survival-horror counterpart. This game has been taking a lot of flack for being on-rails, as if that somehow made it less of a game than any others. I've mentioned this before, but linear isn't necessarily a bad word. Sure, its fun to be able to explore a world at your own pace, but that's only one aspect of gaming. Some games aren't about that, and that doesn't make them somehow inferior or irrelevant. A guided experience delivered with quality and care can be just as compelling an experience as any other type of game. So Dead Space: Extraction is a rail-shooter? I'm honestly baffled as to why that should cause such hate and vitriol toward the game.
