Its a sweet little device. comes in real handy when you just cant sit in front of the regular tv screen to play.
As a dad of 3, this is a godsend for us ps5 players. I just bought it and have been playing in bed while the kids watch their shows. And the mrs thinks its good since i can be near her lol.
Especially when the Deck has a very well made Remote Play app, and the touch pads/gyro can be used for aiming.
@outsider1624 - yep, I use an app on my Steam Deck which lets me do the same thing. Granted I'd love the dualsense features built into the controller, but being able to play my steam games as well as my PS5 is a bit of a bonus.

Even as a regular deck user I can justify having the portal... just as i can justify having the g cloud. The deck has been great for all my steam stuff and some retorarch games. But it is kind of chunky whereas the portal is very svelt and sleek and just feels right when playing PS games. The g cloud feels very comfortable too and it doesnt hurt that it is geared towards XB games.
In my hands, there is room for all three (and switch makes four). I get it that everyone is different and I say play what you like but also keep an open mind.
Thats fair, £200 just for haptics seems unwarranted, I think its a decent upgrade if you're coming from one of those phone/joypad hybrid things
You know I felt the same for a long time, but the adaptive triggers and better haptic make enough of a difference for me. The screen isn't as good obviously, but it's a high quality IPS which is way better than what I was expecting.
I know I did day one, but now I wish I would have waited because the black one is fire 🔥
I actually am planning on buying one in the next few months. I’m more focused on paying some debts down to adjust for the year and trying to control my spending.
I love my PS Portal, and gaming on the cloud is fire!! Just hoping that cloud streaming/gaming will also be available in the Extra Tier subscription!
