FSR 3 frame generation is coming to consoles - and sooner than you might imagine.
This game is actually way more charming than it had any right to be. I genuinely like the character interactions and conversations as they feel rather authentic to me.
Nice! I think this game kinda fell into the The Order trap, styled over substance, but it’s by no means a bad game. I started it, I will probably wait til these improvements drop to continue. Not sure how much good being on PS Plus will do the devs, but hopefully this brings some more eyes to their work for the future, cuz there’s a lot of talent there.
Immortals of Aveum may have been better received if it wasn’t drowned out by Starfield and Baldur’s Gate 3, according to the studio’s founder.
except "Horizon and its sequel" are exceptionally well made games, nice try wirh the surreptitious comment.
I mean Horizon 1 was one of the highest rated games of the year and has sold 25 million. Wouldn't really call it a sh*try game and buried.
I'd wonder how the relationship with EA worked. EA did sacrifice Titanfall 2 in a similar way.

A former Ascendent Studios employee claimed releasing a Immortals of Aveum, a AAA single-player shooter in 2023 was a "terrible idea," but is that really the case?
The games design was just not very good. FPM game? Even when I saw the a reveal, I said well that's going to bomb. It just seemed very uninteresting.
Look, I'm just going to be a 100 p with ya' here, from all the marketing I saw of this game nothing and I mean NOTHING about it stood out to me, nor did it make me want to buy it.
I'm not saying it's a bad game. If you enjoyed it, I'm happy for you. I just did not see anything that compelled me to want to fork over money for this game. So, is that the industry failing the game or did the game just fail to entice consumers to buy it?

From the trailers the butch looking characters were very unappealing and it just looked generic overall.
It was a generic fps with a magic skin, even it's character design looked generic. You can't sell a game on graphics and "Unreal 5" hype alone.
Should have used a female character with a big arse. That's what piques people's interests nowadays.
Have to agree with this. I got it for $9 with gamepass so I definitely got my money worth, but I think I would have bought it at $40. It's a great game that took a lot of risk being a linear single player experience among a sea of grindy RPG's. Either the marketing sucked or people just didn't give it the attention it deserved. It was unique for being a story driven magic FPS with a big budget, I was very impressed by some of the boss battles and set pieces. It sucks because this will just encourage more cheap F2P multiplayer games or grindy RPGs that rely on viral hype.
I have not played it but single player games are my thing. This just looked generic on every level with horrible art design and very unappealing characters. Even the music in the launch trailer was bad.
I don't entirely disagree, but I could also say that about many games. So many generic Souls clones, so many generic JPRG clones, so many zombie games or resident evil clones. Let's not even get started on the multiplayer scene riddled with generic hero shooters, COD clones, extraction shooters, etc.
I don't recall the last time I played a linear big budget single player fps shooter campaign with magic. Yes it is generic, but you just have to treat is as such going in. It's not the next God of war, it's not the next Alan Wake. It's got big boss battles with dragons and giants etc., fun gameplay, and tbh more tolerable story than many other games I've played. I guess I just don't get the harsh treatment when so many other generic games get away with it with much less to offer.
To me this only encourages developers to take shortcuts. Either make RPGs the rely on repetitive grinding so they don't have to incorporate big budgets on cutscenes and set pieces, or make MTX riddled multiplayer games copying the most recent trends.
ill be trying Immortals of Aveum since i have been waiting for it to be very cheap since i heard its not a very good game.
Wanted to play the Immortals of Aveum but I didn’t want to pay much for it so I’ve waited .
I’ll check it out on plus if I actually like it I’ll buy a physical copy sometime. Never heard of Skul I’ll try that as well. Minecraft Legends is crappy my kids played it for a little bit but gave up on it fairly quick. MS can’t even please little kids that’s how bad they are with most games.
Great month! Buzzing to try immortals, would never of paid money for it but have always watched from sidelines knowing there’s a chance I may really like it!
Had a feeling Immortals of Aveum was going to come to Plus when I bought the Digital Deluxe Edition for $20 a couple weeks ago. Need to start listening to my gut more.
I actually wanted to give Immortals of Aveum a shot, but for really cheap or preferably free. I think the game launched at $70, yikes lol
