Penny’s Big Breakaway (PC) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, Penny’s Big Breakaway is a title that achieves what it sets out to do in many areas, creating a stylish game with a fun, rich moveset that incentivizes and rewards masterful play, but which is hampered by a few design flaws and a steep difficulty spike early on. Casual platforming fans or those who are easily frustrated might want to think twice before picking it up, but those looking for a game with a high cap for mastery or simply a unique take on the genre could very well find what they’re looking for here."

The three titles in the thumbnail are my three favorite new releases of the year.

Astro Bot is my GOTY but Indiana Jones is a close second and Stellar Blade right up with them. Shadow of the Erdtree is my favorite gaming experience of the year though.

I played Penny's Bug Breakaway after hearing John rave about it so much on DF. One of the worst platformers, it did not click with me at all, and maybe it was a skill issue but through to the end, it just felt kinda off. Like the direction and momentum I expected to go didn't match where I felt I aimed, especially with an angled camera
