Yeah xbox just buy smaller studios from now on

itsmebryan126d ago

They would have to. Not many bigger than what they already bought.

just_looken125d ago (Edited 125d ago )

They could buy sony easily.

Sony net worth a tiny 112 billion were as microsoft this year has tipped over a net worth of 2.5 trillion.

Toss sony 120 billion make that up in a years profit easily bam no competition.

They made 51 billion every quarter on average this year that is pocket profit

Or try to manage the ton of studios MS already has without ruining them.

itsmebryan124d ago

@jznrpg

Have seen what Sony has done to insomniac. They made it into a Marvel only sweatshop till at least 2031+ while wanting them to layoff people. Talk about how to ruin a developer.

shinoff2183124d ago

Itsmebryan

Just curious how do you know insomniac didn't wanna take that on? those marvel games while not what I personally want they sell , they sell a sh ton.

This isn't like how ms ruined rare

Darkegg125d ago

Or invest in studios like cuphead who could have gone .. supply them with the investment and grow them.

GamerRN125d ago

The FTC needs to stop wasting tax payer money! This is a fight that's already been decided. They are literally doing nothing good for the US, for video gamers, or for business as a whole.

Str8Chaos74125d ago

Totally agree. Not to mention it is a very corrupt organization.

esherwood125d ago

For real. And it’s not like they’re protecting small businesses or anything. Xbox only competition is Sony a Japanese company so wtf are they so hell bent on crippling an American company

shinoff2183124d ago

You made the point yourself. Sony is a smaller business and right now the thing stopping ms from being a monopoly.

Also figure I'd add Sony is headquartered in america so that's gotta count for something , just cause it didn't originate in america.

If Sony leaves gaming ms is the only player in town. Most people with ps wouldn't go to Nintendo they'd have to buy a xbox unless they go pc.

A bunch of disagrees but no real comments.

FTC is wasting/burning money!

1Victor125d ago

@raft:” A bunch of disagrees but no real comments.”
What’s the point to reply to unhinged comments that sound politically motivated and get a soft ban.
All I have to say about this is that what the FTC is asking for is normal and Microsoft shouldn’t have anything to hide if they acted in good faith.
Bellow is what the FTC is asking for.

Corporate testimony about terms that were proposed but not included in the final Ubisoft Agreement.
Corporate testimony about the alternatives to the Ubisoft Agreement that Respondents considered.
Corporate testimony from Activision on all but three noticed topics.
Any documents or corporate testimony about Respondents’ own agreement to extend their merger’s timing, which was a necessary precondition to reaching the Ubisoft Agreement.

All of those are interesting points except for the last one to a lesser extent.

S2Killinit125d ago (Edited 125d ago )

Yeah they should let large corporations buy up everything.

GamerRN125d ago

Victor, why would any of this be relevant? They already had their argument shot down, and Microsoft's new streaming deal only makes it a lesser issue, not a greater one.

The deal will not be blocked. It's a waste of tax payer money.

MrDead125d ago

When you have MS money you buy success and influence, f**k everyone else.

The only PlayStation dev I care about tbh.

Cacabunga18h ago

Hopefully doesn’t take them a complete gen to release it

Good. Something not boring, not one of those "make your own game" crap and also on Steam would be nice.

Stopac11h ago

I too like to look for things in the wrong places.

"the capital group of PCF Group S.A."

If you're getting funding from a group that needs two different ways of Acronyming itself, things will not go the way you want them to.

banger881d 16h ago

If it was more online-only crap then good riddance.

jjb19811d 2h ago

Outriders was crap. They slapped that game together and threw in a loot system to get players' attention. This game was absolutely jank and the always online nonsense made it stutter like crazy. People Can't Optimize.

thorstein1d 1h ago

I liked Outriders but I could see where the artistic vision was compromised. The way the industry is now, it wouldn't surprise me that upper management would scrap something that didn't pull in money via gaas, mts, or other means.
