After over a decade in the doldrums, with multiple controversies and delays to boot, Star Citizen’s standalone single player experience Squadron 42 looks to be firmly on the horizon. Presented in cinematic interstellar glory via Cloud Imperium Games’ recent I Held the Line deep dive video, prospective players have been treated to glimpses of cosmic traversal, intergalactic cockpit combat, FPS action, plus a host of new tools, weapons, and gadgetry.

Star Citizen creator Chris Roberts announced that the roadmap to release will be revealed later this year while offering details on the state and future of the project and mentioning that 2023 was its best year ever.
