Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 Is the Last Major Update for PS4/X1 as Team Moves Focus to Current-Gen & PC

CDPR has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.6 will be the last major update for last-gen, as the studio focuses on next-gen and PC for content.

darthv72642d ago

Looks like its time for DF to test out this patch on last gen hardware.

excaliburps642d ago

Last-gen Cyberpunk owners, pray patch 1.6 irons out most of the bugs since it seems you won't be getting anymore. Not a good move by CDPR...

CrimsonWing69642d ago

I don’t know, I say cut your losses and move onto what works.

If anything, let this be a lesson to them.

Snakeeater25642d ago (Edited 642d ago )

A awesome move!!! It’s time to let last-gen go, its 2022

DarthZoolu642d ago

I wish the people from the last GEN would get a job

FinalFantasyFanatic641d ago

Sadly, it probably should have never been released on last gen consoles, so hopefully it does fix alot of the remaining bugs. I'm still waiting for a decent price drop on PC before I buy the game.

ChiefofLoliPolice641d ago

Nope its been time to move on. CP2077 never should have been on previous consoles to begin with givin how badly the game ran on last gen consoles. Hell they never should have even bothered to make last gen the lead platforms.

Nitrowolf2642d ago

i thinkl they did it for the last patch since that was mostly centered around that due to next-gen release

GamingSinceForever642d ago

I cannot get into this game. Hopefully it clicks sooner than later else I may never finish it.

LoveSpuds642d ago

Life is too short to force yourself to play something you aren't enjoying chief.

GamingSinceForever642d ago

Absolutely.

I heard that it is really good once you get into it.

Gardenia642d ago

I can understand why. I always liked the "Bladerunner/cyberpunk&qu ot; setting, but if I didn't I wouldn't care much for the game.

CobraKai642d ago

Me too. The setting is what got me hooked and ending up enjoying the game despite its issues.

roadkillers642d ago (Edited 642d ago )

Wish they would move to Joe Danger 3…

Edit: I joined the Army a month before No Man Sky released. They are still releasing content

SimpleSlave642d ago

Yeah. The fact that Hello Game is but a fraction of what CDPR is, and has managed to turn No Man Sky around with a plethora of free content, and on last gen version AND on the Switch no less, puts CDPR in a worst light. And the fact that CDPR just decided to walk away from last-gen version like that says it all I think.

What a resounding and absolute fall from grace.

Eidolon642d ago (Edited 642d ago )

And VR, and next gen upgrade at launch of PS5/XSX. Hope they're making money, I would love to see what they do next.

FPS_D3TH642d ago

Maybe the expansion will have those cut features from the main game like wall running now

ExPresident642d ago

Is this good on current gen now? I mean like actually somewhat close to what they portrayed it would be? I got a refund when it came out it was so bad and never looked back but it was a game I was very interested in at one time. Worth it on PS5 now?

GamingSinceForever642d ago

The new gen version is not visually spectacular but at least it performs much better than it did at launch.

CS7642d ago (Edited 642d ago )

Same question here:

Was very interested in the game and bought on launch day to play on PS5.

Deleted after my third crash in the first three hours.

Is the game worth it now?

darthv72642d ago

I hear it runs at 60fps now on Series S. That sounds good.

porkChop642d ago

I stopped playing at launch and waited for the current gen update to start a new playthrough. At least on Series X I can say it looks, plays, and runs far better than the Xbox One version. No crashes or major bugs. Some visual glitches sometimes, but nothing too big.

JSusie5642d ago

I played it on a series x for the first time ever within the last month and had zero crashes in 50+ hours of play. Ended up with like 900 or so achievement points from it so I'm guessing I did most of the content. Only issue I ever had was sometimes when it switched to Johnny Silverhand's pov it would put a weird semi transparent gray box on my screen that wouldnt go away unless I saved and reloaded.

Still was just decent, nothing spectacular to me.

"It’s incredibly difficult to figure out a way where New Game Plus could be done in a way that doesn’t completely break the way the game is constructed,"

Yet in 2020 i had this mode via a mod they are actually saying that your powers can screw up v's infection for those unaware pre the big update so it might not be a thing anymore but if you maxed out v with save editor your character would get sick see johnny all that but still would be in the first part.

Here is a very old vid of mine you can see how it can screw up the game
https://youtu.be/fCdo_Bowle...

So they could do it if they did not spend years making a mess of everything then last minute toss a game out half done.
