Not worth the money. It isn't like remastered games going from PS3 to PS4, or 360 to Xbox One. Sorry, but those jumps in graphics were extremely noticeable.
To before it's only 10 bucks i hear if you have the original game. It's worth the tenner in my opinion.
If you didn't have the original you can pick that up for 5 or 10 bucks too on marketplace.
You are right, my bad. I didn't know the remaster was only $10 for the update. I thought Sony was pulling a TLOU again. That was ridiculous.
Its only 10.00......and if you dont have the base game ive seen it in stores as low as 9.99. At max its 19.99. Just admit u broke.

The only thing I'd call a massive upgrade is the water. The lighting is also more accurate so one can cherrypick examples where the "Remaster" looks significantly better.
With that said I'm not a fan of the oversaturated foliage and in places I prefer the color tone of the original. Frankly this isn't even worth the 10 bucks to upgrade for me, especially since I've just recently replayed the complete edition.
It’s an 10 buxx upgrade. Imagine if we had such options during ps4 era instead of being offered full price for remasters. So those 10 buxx upgrades is one of few good things this get brought up
The remasters were rarely full-price. We got plenty of full collections of previous gen IP for 40-50 bucks. The lack of backwards compatibility made those remaster collections a lot more sensible than what we're getting now.
The 10 bucks for the upgrade for this is fair enough, I'm not gonna knock them for that, but I still question why these unnecessary projects are even greenlit in the first place.
If we're gonna act like a remake is necessary as soon as a game shows any sign of aging, soon the entire industry will be preoccupied with regurgitating itself, because these kind of remakes are just band-aid solutions that will run into the same issue come next gen.
Can't imagine being this much a sucker.... Sony fans get milked real hard. It's gotta be tiring.

I played it maxed out native 4k 120hz it did not look "worse" there are better textures on some models in this "remaster" nothing a mod would not do on the gog version.

I've played it maxed out too. The lighting is miles better on the new version and naturally textures. Sure you can mod it, ive modded Days Gone and it's looks better than pretty much every next gen game. But that's not what your comparison video shows
It does look better to be honest. It takes more advantage of the PS5.

On console yes pc get the original version that does not need a forced psn login and is $30 cheaper its still on gog for now.

Sony really seems intent on inflating their user numbers to look better for their shareholders, don’t they? The original version is DRM-free, available globally, and, based on comparisons, it’s not significantly worse than the remaster. Yet they still try to push the PSN nonsense on new buyers with quite literally gives nothing to the user and locks a good chunk of the market out of the game.

Two years ago, people were spreading fud about Microsoft taking away games from other platforms.
Instead - the reality today is that Sony is taking away their own games from their own players.
Microsoft was first to require pay to play online.
Microsoft was last to do crossplay.
Microsoft was first to force crossplay between their console players and pc players.
Microsoft was first to push a Microsoft account to play on pc.
Microsoft lead the third party contracts of exclusivity.
Sony… want a free account of psn to play their games, like an already existing standard of third party developers like ea, Ubisoft, Microsoft….
And they lost their way.

A person can not play on windows pc without a microsoft account. Period.
And Microsoft counts this as a Xbox gaming scenario.
It is in the code of their operating system and tied to steam.
They very much require you to sign up even though it is disguised.
It is 100% mandatory.
Not about inflating PSN numbers, it is about piracy. Have you looked at how popular Sony games are on pirate flag waving sites? The number far outweighs what they sell on Steam or Epic. Will it lead to even more piracy? probably. But Sony dug this hole themselves.

I basically stopped buying PS5 games early in this generation because of their PC strategy. Why am I going to pay $70 for a game if I can get them free on my PC. If a company can't protect a customers purchase then I'm not going to buy.
If this were about piracy, they would be adding Denuvo or some other form of powerful DRM, not a PSN requirement that is so flimsy in execution that people can mod it out.
This is 100% about inflating PSN numbers. PSN numbers are a known KPI reported to investors. You know what isn’t? Piracy conversion or avoidance. Sony is not a small operation; their focus lies in what their investors care about, and they care about growth.
God PlayStation is so lame compared to what it used to be. I really hope the change in leadership starts showing change in this kind of bs soon

I mean, not all remakes/remasters are improvements, case and point, the Until Dawn Remake which is a buggy, broken mess on both PC and PS5.
Some people prefer the original over the new, other the new over the original. Some are limited by hardware, and whole they've had plenty of time to buy, may now be forced to upgrade because they can't play a version that could have worked on their system just fine.
Personally I think it's dumb to take options away, especially since the original was playable in basically every region Steam sold on, and now the remake isn't.
Higher resolution, solid 60fps, and nearly 3x faster loading times. Great update!
perfect, I haven't beaten the game yet, so I can't wait to try this out on the PS5 now.
Is unbeliavable how this game looks at 60 fps, kinda strange in this comparison it shows modes performance and resolution in the PS5 segments, cause for me those Options it shows to me Unavailable and cant switch options and by default is already 60 fps , not sure if someone else has this problem or is just only me.
What a lazy update, no reactive foliage, AF is unchanged, they could have bumped it to 16x. They just changed two lines of code to get it to run at 60FPS, so PC is still the best way to play. GG you are bloody disappointing.
