Xbox Series X Review: Great Now, Better Later

The Mako Reactor says: "It’s far from perfect but there are still more than enough reasons to consider buying the Xbox Series X as long as you can find one."

I'd give it a 70/100 right now just because the launch lineup is terrible

bouzebbal1213d ago (Edited 1213d ago )

7/100 is more like it.. Just for the sake of participation and holding so tight onto that 3rd place since OG xbox

Om4ever1213d ago (Edited 1213d ago )

🤣🤣🤣 What a joker you are man

darthv721213d ago

OG xbox came in 2nd, it beat out the gamecube just like the one beat out the wiiu.

NeoGamer2321213d ago

Your post has a value of 1 / 1000

Darthpaul841213d ago (Edited 1213d ago )

Last time I checked the Xbox 360 curb stomped the ps3 for a whole generation and the wiiu lost out by a massive margin last generation to the x1 and the og Xbox edged out the GameCube by a few million units. Beating Nintendo is no joke so much for ur third place argument huh

andy851213d ago

Curb stomped the PS3 for a generation last time you checked? When was that, 2005? It released a year earlier and literally sold less. That's also with the vastly inflated numbers from the incredibly high failure rate. Do they put something funky in the air where you're from?

S2Killinit1213d ago (Edited 1213d ago )

If 360 “curb stomped” the PS3 for having a 2 million units more, then losing the lead, what did PS4 do to xbox one? Rape and pillage xbox village? 😂

Anyone else remember when xbox released a year earlier, and the doom and gloom they sang about PS3 having a mere 2 million unit less install?

Bluemaster771213d ago

You ever get tired of being a clown ?

xTonyMontana1213d ago

@andy25 So true with the failure rate, I think by the end of the generation I had bought about four. PS3 won in sales because it's not a sprint but a marathon but those first 2-3 years of the 360 were some of my favourite gaming years. Gears of War is still probably my favourite console shooter and then they had games way ahead of their time like Chromehounds and Shadowrun.

YodaCracker1209d ago

The reason people say Xbox beat PS3:

PS2: 155 million to PS3: 85 million
Xbox: 25 million to 360: 85 million

Microsoft, along with Nintendo, completely ripped away Sony’s grasp on the market, cutting their market share in half from the previous gen. Xbox in particular more than tripling its user base.

What's this lineup you speak of?

The Mojave dessert is less Barron than their games output.

lifeisgamesok1213d ago

You're right. It's like a Ferrari with no wheels

Ausbo1213d ago

If you are trying that hard to make fun of the console, at least spell barren right

SpineSaw1213d ago

@lifeisgamesok

Dude you nailed it but its no Ferrari without wheels it's more like old rusted Chevrolet El Camino setting out infront of a old rusted Trailer home in the old Trailer park up on cinder blocks.
Now just like the old Chevrolet El Camino on cinder blocks can be fixed up so can the new Xbox console but I don't think anyone will be holding their breath waiting on some good system selling games from Xbox First Party.

TheProblem1213d ago

I’m not exactly sure what the point if the series x is. It was billed as the best place to play third parties and we’ve seen that was just a lie.

PS5 actually has launch games, new UI, ground breaking controller and is the better performing machine on multi platform games.

Series X doesn’t really have anything

darthv721213d ago

The controller is the only thing really new for the ps5. All the games were initially started on ps4. Even the UI is just a revision of what they done before with ps3 and ps4. Neither one of these 9th gen entries are going to get anything they can truly call their own until sometime in 2022.

sinspirit1213d ago

@darthv72

Lets not lump the better performer with the lower one to try and damage control. We get it. You are saying both consoles are equally lame right now to appear objective. But, really you're just reducing one of them to the others level because you know you can't get away with praise to improve ones image. Old tactic gets old.

2022 is true for XBox. PS5 had a great lineup. Deal with it. It had great launch games and other AAA exclusives are months to under a year away.

darthv721213d ago (Edited 1213d ago )

@sin... What was the great lineup for the ps5? I mean seriously...? Neither had great launch games, no matter how much people want to praise demon souls... its still a remake of a ps3 game. SM:MM was a fine spin off but it wasnt only on the 5. Same with sack boy. The only game you could call a launch game was astro and that was free.

The SX didnt have launch games either. Crossgen are exactly that, crossgen. And the big selling point of the 5 is the controller while the selling point of Series is it makes old games feel new. Something the 5 does as well. Like I said, both wont get their own games (no way in hell possible on 8th gen) until 2022.

Just accept it.. both released too soon.

sinspirit1213d ago

@Darthv72

You really keep going?

"selling point of Series is it makes old games feel new." While playing down PS5 for having PS5 enhanced cross-gen *launch* titles, and a PS5-level remake, you're complimenting XBox for backwards compatability enhancements. So, having PS5 specific enhanced cross-gen launch games and a next-gen remake mean nothing to you. But, backwards compatability in general has you all for XBox.

Kontvandervok1213d ago (Edited 1213d ago )

"The controller is the only thing really new for the ps5. All the games were initially started on ps4. Even the UI is just a revision of what they done before with ps3 and ps4."

So it's gotten to this point now for you Xbox fans? You have to resort to straight bullshit lies now? Why did you think anyone would believe this rubbish when you typed it? Are you trying to be serious?

Non-existent as far as presenting the console's personality and potential.

"Every E3 brings us one step closer to salvation my brothers!" We just have to ... https://youtu.be/3rridXskgW...

I thought I was going to need to pick up an XB1 (I bought a 360 as a secondary console for Halo and a few other games - it was worth it) but it just never panned out

Zarock1213d ago

Mine is already grabbing dust. They don't even have proper labels for their games you don't even know what games support 60fps HDR some even do without having a 60fps label. Soo lazy and looks like a quick cash grab.

Zarock1213d ago

I'm done waiting I'll just upgrade my PC.

TheColbertinator1213d ago

Been doing upgrades too. Getting another new gaming laptop within the next few months also to handle my portable Cyberpunk 2077 needs.

Thundercat771213d ago

And this is exactly the problem with the Xbox brand... Always a "promise" of something "better" to come. Wait til this, wait til that and in the meantime never delivering.
