Cyberpunk 2077 Next-Gen Pricing Stays Current-Gen

I rarely buy accessory game related items. The last "extra" I bought for a game was for the Mass Effect Trilogy. Somehow, even though I have never played a CD Projekt Red game before, I've already bought the hardcover World of Cyberpunk 2077, and will buy the Complete Official Guide Collectors Edition for this game as well. I don't even plan to look through that book until after my first playthrough, but will do so for subsequent playthroughs, of which I am sure there will be many.

I'm really looking forward to this title. I'm building out a new pc for Cyberpunk and for the next gen, but Cyberpunk is really the game that solidified that decision for me. The news that CD Projekt is also releasing an updated next gen version of the Witcher sometime in 2021 also means I'll be looking to finally play that game as well. Good times ahead.

So, essentially, there’s really no true reason for the price hike for next-gen. Other than at some point the industry said they just want more money and want to test to see if consumers will still buy the games.

Well, I’ll vote with my wallet and wait for deep deep sales. Hope it was worth it.

I'm not buying a fully priced game from any company that raises it's price to 70$

This isn't news. We've known for a long time that the next gen upgrade would be free? Then why would they price an eventual next gen release higher? Everybody would just get the cheaper current gen version and upgrade free of charge
