We always see these things created in Unreal engine. They look amazing but nothing is happening in screen other than pretty environments. Stuff like this will never be anything to go by.

Sono4211456d ago

I wouldn't say never.. at some point in the future we will be here, just not now.

AnubisG1456d ago

Sure, maybe in 20 years or more.

Sono4211456d ago (Edited 1456d ago )

@AnubisG

That's a long ways off from never.. in the grand scheme of things that's nothing.

blacktiger1455d ago

that's what he said, never say never. I'd say about million years, too bad if you don't get to live to see it,

You must be living under a rock. A beautifully rendered rock in UE4. I can only imagine the amount of PlayStation fans, (16 at this time) who wish they could see these graphics. Enjoy your console?

Yes your completey spot on it all comes down to little cpu draw calls required as well as the graphics card and cpu being free to reach peak performance due to low activity, there’s also very little if any player activity so there able to push all resources into the way it looks, remember the graphics demos from back the day for new Nvidea cards? We’re only now just getting to the graphics demonstrated back then 15 plus years ago. That’s not to say next gen won’t blow people away but ignore things I like this as a guideline it doesn’t equate to real world game code calculations , but who knows the tech in these new batch of rdna2 cards really do have extremely impressive performance per wat is go as far as to say huge implications for great potential. There is a reason devs are saying this is the biggest leap in tech since the jump to 3D it really isn’t hype they really are very impressive

True, but it's some nice eye candy.

anubusgold1456d ago

Nahh it looks like bad CG i can tell it looks fake.

KwietStorm_BLM1455d ago

What's some of this "good" CGI you're comparing it to?

tontontam01455d ago

You are spending so much time playing video games, you probably forgot what reality looks.

anubusgold1455d ago

Down vote all you want you can still tell its a game and will look less real in motion.

anubusgold1455d ago

@TheDragonSlayer Maybe for a console noob that is waiting on a upgrade PC people got 5 years ago lol.

UE always have these tech demos, but they are just renderings with nothing going on, onscreen. It's completely ridiculous they do this every generation. It's really annoying and misleading.

MarkyMark891455d ago (Edited 1455d ago )

Its not misleading or annoying, its annoying that we have gamer's out there that don't realize half of these tech demo's and representations of UE4 are sometimes achievable and not far fetched. A whole lot have actually been able to run on top PC hardware, Rebirth is an amazing one that comes to mind. Has anybody ever used it for a game, no, doesn't make it fake or not do-able in games, just makes it tech not being used. Welcome to the tech age happens to hundreds of apps, programs, engines, devices every single day. Lol do you live in 2020?

Looks great for sure but still looks like cg. I would definitely be happy if this was the extent to what we could achieve in game.

Fans??? This is done by one person

WoodsRatesGames1088d ago

Someone else was commissioned to do the music and another person modelled the batmobile. Links to all involved are included in the article.

Gaming4Life19811088d ago

They should have been made a batman game for the best batman movie. This looks amazing and now I must watch the movie.

Am I crazy or is there an Unreal Engine 5 now? Why promote old tech?

waverider1109d ago

I really dont understand either? isnt the Unreal Engine 5 already available for studios? arent they already working with it?

masterfox1108d ago

UE5 Is for PS5 only, deal with it! :D

***runs away from this thread with pride!**

Tacoboto1108d ago

UE5 is not released yet and developers for years will still make UE4 games because that's where their tools and customizations are.

Mortal Kombat still uses UE3. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is also still UE3.

Magog1108d ago

That more of an embarrassing indictment of those devs than a reason to promote old software.

Tacoboto1108d ago

Embarrassing indictment? You know nothing of software development then.

Spenok1108d ago (Edited 1108d ago )

Because a ridiculous amount of the industry still uses 4, and because no, 5 is not out yet. They said it would launch later this year.

AuraAbjure1108d ago

Companies still use Unreal Engine 3.

Really impressive tech but I don’t even notice all of these benefits in real life, never mind being chased by zombies in a video game. Rather devote resources to resolution and frame rate.

Magog1108d ago

If you suddenly stopped casting reflections in a mirror I think you would notice.

Amplitude1108d ago (Edited 1108d ago )

Edit: i misread this.
N4G really needs a delete comment button lol

Einhander19711107d ago

Yes after seeing the Unreal 5 ps5 reveal, I thought that's where we were heading. But saying that I have read various articles that suggest its easy for developers to still work on Unreal 4 and carry everything over to Unreal 5 when needed, we shall see.
