Not heard of this before, but it looks really great

You should read the other reviews. It's really isn't good. Buggy Ai, combat is simple and doesn't always register, no voice acting, wonky translation, exploration is basically walking through linear corridors, bosses rangers from QTEs to wagglefest, no unlockables, only 5 stages and can be completed in less than 2 hours only because enemy waves can feel way too long, final boss was a pain due to heavy reliance on teleporting which required way too much precision, tno difficulty options, very unpolished, no smooth turning, and the game is so easy that it's almost impossible to not win an S rank. And trust me, I had to pay $15 just to actually experience it despite the negative reviews, and it just really didn't felt like it was worth my time.

Playstation Brahs praised the game because they're usually very casual when it comes to reviewing games, including the bad ones. But I'm not lying when I tell you that even games like Gungrave VR and The Walker are far more worth of your time. Don't get fooled by the game's looks. There's a good reason why Winking, the game's backer, was left out from the launch trailer which, fun fact, is the exact same as the 2017 trailer. If you really want to know how the game actually looks, I recommend checking out PSVR without Parole's review.

If you still want to check out the game, then wait till they drop the price because there's plenty of $15 PSVR games that are worth playing over imo.

Don't know about you but after looking at youtubers playing the game, you should probably think twice before you call the game great looking xD

I'd recommend Sairento instead. It's way better, more exciting, more polished and isn't a stationary waveshooter :)

Thanks for the heads up about this article lol.

Sad to see such wasted potential. Hard to even hope for a patch since the game never had any concrete updates since early last year. I even asked Circle Entertainment about the issue and I am yet to recieve a respond. Why hope the best for a game that was clearly abandoned on a purpose?

Also, it may be just me but I find the amount of star wars references here a bit overwhelming, especially when you realize that the game rips off star wars not once but twice!

Yeah, I think the reviewer is a bit exaggerating with the wave fights. If you are trying to tell me fighting against wave of dumb Ais that can be easily dispatched by either interrupting their animations or instant killing them with your gravity attack, then I'm sorry but what VR action games have you even played lol. Even the bosses are either easy qtes or boring sword waggles. Just by looking at other people playing it on youtube gives off the same feeling when you play the game: bored and annoyed. Even for $15 there are far better games imo. Maybe if it was $10 or less it might be worth a try...for a while anyway.

Plus, since this is PSBrahs, I wouldn't be surprised if the game gets a sudden boost in sales because of this review.

Still, atleast it's a better review than VR Shop's poor excuse of a "review".

Review: Reborn: A Samurai Awakens - PS4/PSVR | Pure PlayStation

Pure PlayStation: Reborn: A Samurai Awakens is a bad game that misses every mark it was trying to hit. The enemies are boring and the combat is so bad, I couldn't wait for it to be over. It is to be avoided at all cost.

I feel like there were a few things he forgot to mention, like the gravity attack, the QTEs, lack of actual options like modifying difficulty, no actual replay value aside from finding collectables that only exist to give an actual reason to explore, the dialogue that actually looks like it was translated through Google translator, etc.

Also, does the game actually have 6 stages? Cause so far, from what I have seen, only 5 are available. And even after getting S ranks (which isn't hard to do), you get nothing aside from a few trophies. Really makes you wonder what actually happened during the development of the game, and will Geronimo continue to make games after this?

Abnor_Mal1656d ago

This has to be a really trash game. I've not seen any score of six and above. In truth I haven't seen a score above two. There seems to be no redeeming quality to this game, that would give someone a reason to play. Maybe the people that hunt trophies can collect a few, haven't checked the game out myself so I don't know if there's even a platinum.

On a positive note, Espire1 just downloaded and should unlock in a few hours.
