With the apparent announcement of Diablo II Remaster and Diablo IV around the corner lets look at why a remaster might not be a great idea for Blizzard.
Diablo IV may be the latest entry from the Diablo series, but it can sure learn a thing or two from the iconic Diablo II. Both of these games are different and similar to each other, but Diablo II's phenomenal presence should still be more appearing in Diablo IV to make the game even better in its current state.
A fan-run initiative called Project Diablo 2 has brought a 60 FPS update for the classic Diablo title, among other changes.
Boo! Thought this was eventually a patch for diablo2 on PS5. The fact that they can’t get that game to run in quality mode at 60fps is an absolute joke!
Diablo 2: Resurrected developer Blizzard Albany has condemned Activision Blizzard for “hostility” after it allegedly delayed recognition of a new employee union
The game is still $25 +. I'm waiting for it to drop to the actual value of the product.
I can’t fault activision on this one. “Hostile” for the delay in recognizing their power lmao. Yikes. Good luck with that MS.
This attitude is why I'm not a big fan of the MS/Acti deal: you're essentially rewarding repulsive higher-ups with golden parachutes versus absorbing talent like the inXile/Obsidian deals.
it should be a remake at least, not a fucking remaster. but what do you expect from this little money whore - blizzard?
A lot of fans still think 2 is the best of the series.
I still don't care for Blizzards stance with China. They should move there with lebron.
I’d love a d2 remake or remaster. One of my favorite games of all time
Assuming they are charging full price for the remaster, then i do not see it being an issue if it takes sales from D4. They will be making the same amount of money from those who buy the D2 remaster instead of D4, and twice as much from those who decide to buy both. It will also being in a ton of positive publicity if they do it properly, which lets be honest, Blizzard could use all the positive publicity they can get right now.
If they only do D4, unless they do a hell of a lot better than they did with D3, they will likely make far less money than they would from doing both, as there are going to be people who would have bought the remaster, but have no interest in D4 regardless.
Doing the remaster could also bring back some lost faith in the company, which may actually increase the sales of D4 and other future Diablo titles. They have nothing to loose and potentially a ton to gain by trying.
A remaster would have been better than Immortal, but after all their shit recently, Diablo 4 can't even save them in my opinion.
