A Remastered Ghostbusters: The Video Game is Heading to PS4 This Year

It’s been rumored, but it’s finally confirmed that the Ghostbusters are coming to PS4 with a remaster of 2009’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

I played and finished the game on Xbox 360 (best version by far), Ghostbusters is one of my all time favorite movies, PS3 version sucked hard.

I don't think downvotes actually played PS3 version. It was widely known as bad due to poor optimization and was even a joke from Xbox 360 users at PS3.

I played the ps3 version, it was great. Not saying any version is better, but that.... who cares. We're getting a remaster of a great game. Simple

Which is prob why they are remastering the 360 version for all platforms. It was certainly the better of the two (we wont talk about the Wii/PS2 one... it was quite different).

Might be worth a revisit if they put some love into it, they definitely had something with the original, it just felt limited.

did they up the render resolution? If so I bet it looks exactly the same.

It wasn't exactly a showstopper for the 7th generations technical prowess it was a decent looking game but didn't push the boundaries to far.
so even a enhanced version or a remaster with upped res and better textures will it really matter the game was more art style driven than anything else look at the details on character faces for a good indication of what they went for.

In short it's like a graphics comparison for crash or Spyro it doesn't matter all that much

It was pretty silly, if they really want to make women look important or whatever they were going for they should create new stories and characters. The new Ghostbusters came off as lazy and we were supposed to love it just because they cast women instead of men.

I don't think this is an exclusive. It was rated for Xbox One a few weeks ago in Taiwan and Korea, as well as the PC version in Korea as well. I also saw a tweet from someone mentioning a Switch version too, but I'm still researching to find confirmation on that part.

This happened before about a month or so ago with XIII's remaster trailer since the first only was on PlayStation's YouTube channel and had only the PS4 logo, people thought that was exclusive until other articles came out later that day with all three systems and PC confirmed.

Update: Playghostbusters.com (the official Remastered website) has all three systems/PC logos listed, so this is full multiplatform.

This isn't a Sony exclusive so they don't have a say with that. Atari owns the rights to the game (or at least they did for the first release) and Mad Dog Studios is handing publishing.

I'm of two minds on this one. If It's decent remaster with higher resolution assets all around, It's a day 1. If It's just a half@ssed upscale of the PS3 version (which I already own), I'll wait it out considering there's a chance the PS5 will be backwards compatible.

They'd more than likely use the PC version as the base to work on since that was the best version in terms of the engine and graphics.

Too bad this isn't a sequel to Ghostbusters I played the hell out of the game on PS3 best Ghostbusters game to date besides the Sega Genesis game. I hope they cook up a sequel on PS5 to bad Harold Ramis won't be in a sequel to the Ghostbusters game.
