Here is what a Diablo 2 Remaster could look like

DSOGaming writes: "Although Blizzard has not announced anything yet about a remastered version of Diablo 2, Reddit’s member Indoflaven has experimented with some AI upscaing techniques and shared some screenshots, showing what a modern-day remaster of the classic Diablo 2 could look like."

It looks great. I'm really hoping Diablo 4 is more like Diablo 2. It is such a masterpiece and the best game in the franchise.

Unfortunately Blizzard is in the same boat as Bioware. Diablo 4 will be the fail of the year.

The game probably won't even load up due to heavy DRM. When u do finally log in, the servers will crash. When u want to go to the next chapter, it will be on sale for 19.99. a great value they will tell u.

Probably can't play on Windows 7 or 8.

This is what I'm afraid of. They need to go back to their roots, but I doubt they will. Blizzard aren't what they used to be.

Thunder_G0d_Bane1817d ago

Blizzard is certainly not in the same boat as Bioware, they havent released any turd games like Dragon Age 2, Mass effect Andromeda or Anthem.

The Last new games released by Blizzard have been Diablo 3, Overwatch and Hearthstone all of which are certified hits.

Diablo 4 will be revealed later this year im sure and if the leaks are to be trusted its going more an mmo route which is exactly where it needs to go. Lost Ark is amazing an its an Diablo-like game but an MMO.

I'm surprised you didn't include the term 'SJW' in that stupid comment.

I highly doubt Diablo 4 will be anything like Diablo 2. Blizzard have become more and more casual-gamer focused as time went on. Diablo 3 was a parody of what Diablo used to be. They completely screwed up the tone and atmosphere of the series and made it embarrassingly easy. I personally have very little hope for Diablo's future. Blizzard just isn't the same company they used to be. And I'm pretty sure that financially they are doing better now than they ever did before so I don't think there is much incentive for them to change.

Muzikguy1817d ago

I was so hyped for Diablo 3 that I bought a brand new computer to play it and the collector's edition of the game which I never do. The game was a huge letdown. I was so mad I threw the game away lol. I really hope that 4 is more like 2 but I'm not making any judgements on the game before it comes out. I'll never forgive them for what they gave us even though it has been changed a lot over time. They need to go back to their roots and do the game like in Diablo 1 & 2. I have no faith but we shall see

Yeah Diablo 3 was a giant insult and slap in the face when it first launched. Even after that it took years to get rid of that BS Auction House.

I couldn't believe they made legendary gear so rare that you would usually only find one or two pieces in an entire playthrough. Basically making it so you had to pay real money for loot in the Auction House.

Such a joke...

It's a great game now, but it took long enough to get there.

gums0071817d ago

Wow, looks old and outdated

Tankbusta401817d ago

Diablo 2 was so much better than 3. Not even in the same league

Muzikguy1817d ago

I played 2 for years. Didn't even play 3 for a month. I can't believe how far off the mark they were with it

What Can Diablo IV Learn From Diablo II

Diablo IV may be the latest entry from the Diablo series, but it can sure learn a thing or two from the iconic Diablo II. Both of these games are different and similar to each other, but Diablo II's phenomenal presence should still be more appearing in Diablo IV to make the game even better in its current state.

Don't turn it into a live service, don't reskin immortal, and add to the complexity.

Diablo 2 Receives 60 FPS Update Thanks To A New Mod

A fan-run initiative called Project Diablo 2 has brought a 60 FPS update for the classic Diablo title, among other changes.

1nsomniac365d ago

Boo! Thought this was eventually a patch for diablo2 on PS5. The fact that they can’t get that game to run in quality mode at 60fps is an absolute joke!

The game is still $25 +. I'm waiting for it to drop to the actual value of the product.

Quickstrike634d ago

I would still feel ripped off getting it for free.

MadLad634d ago

It's an awesome RPG they did a good job to modernize.
You may not want to play it, but it doesn't mean you need to act all edgy and crap on it.

anast634d ago

D2 is a masterpiece. I want to play it but it is still too much of an ask right now.

sourOG635d ago

I can’t fault activision on this one. “Hostile” for the delay in recognizing their power lmao. Yikes. Good luck with that MS.

coolbeans635d ago

This attitude is why I'm not a big fan of the MS/Acti deal: you're essentially rewarding repulsive higher-ups with golden parachutes versus absorbing talent like the inXile/Obsidian deals.

MadLad634d ago

But the Acquisition is actually ousting these people; allowing the company to move forward.

The current shareholders, despite all the toxicity and both public and internal outcry, just voted in Kotick yet again.

coolbeans634d ago

That's a fair positive, but part of me still hoped their misdeeds would've bit them on the ass in a more damaging way.

MadLad633d ago

Oh, I agree.
I would love nothing more to see someone like Kotick fired on the spot with every employee giving him a kick in the balls on the way out the door.

Unfortunately the world revolves around money, and he made the company a lot of it. Thus the jackass is still around.
