Nintendo Wire: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (still a mouthful of a title!) is the latest in a line of Wii U games given a second chance at life on the Nintendo Switch, following the likes of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and, of course, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It plays the same — almost exactly the same — and comes with few changes when compared to its original version.
The Super Mario franchise has spent a shockingly long time without any new 2D platformers, and it's high time for that to change.
