I would have to think that we would see one original MK experience on the Switch as opposed to the enhanced Wii U version we got.

That being said, how amazing would a Mario Kart Maker be where you can design, build and share your own tracks.

Mario Kart Maker would be alright but so would any 1st party Nintendo-Maker type game. Im really just ready for MK to either see a massive overhaul or be shelfed until next gen. When you say original mk game do you mean mk9 thats very similiar to mk8 and a 9 added at the end? Because thats what it would most likely be if it came this gen. 1 thing id like mk9 to do is ditch the arcadey feel and go more of a racer feel at least for one version. I dont just want the same old... more levels and more racers... change things up for once nintendo if you must make mk9 come this gen.

Neonridr2095d ago

I mean a new entry as opposed to an enhanced port. 9 will bring something new to the table just like 8 did compared to the Wii / 3DS versions.

If 9 is not coming to the Switch then that must mean Nintendo has another dedicated portable in the future and that is where MK9 will end up.

MK1: SNES
MK2: N64 (MK 64)
MK3: GBA (MK Super Circuit)
MK4: GCN (MK Double Dash)
MK5: DS (MK DS)
MK6: Wii (MK Wii)
MK7: 3DS
MK8: WiiU
MK8: Switch (MK8 Deluxe)
MK9: Unannounced 3DS successor....?

Problem is going to be the same as Mario Maker, they need to simplify it and they're not going to be able to give you as much creative freedom as you may think. Would be fun anyways since I loved the ModNation games and I think LBPK is underated, They need to make it eventually though, I'd be all over it.

Quetzll2094d ago

And yet that was never an issue for Mario Maker. People made some absolutely terrific levels that I doubt anyone at Nintendo were even aware was possible. Would be the same case for a kart maker.

you missed what I said and completely ignored the issues with MM that are obviously around. Also obviously creators will make things the devs never expected. Look at Little BIG Planet for example.

Take the time and reply after looking at what I said and looking up these play create share games vs Mario Maker. 1 Mario Maker has VERY few good levels, alot if not momst are a joke or just some sumb kaizo close with a hidden block to annoy you. The best ones are the puzzles, some are really neat yes. I never said no one would make amazing stuff, I said that it would limit the game, because it won't give you the creative freedom you think as they need to keep it simple enough. With LBP it worked because it made it's creator for the typical software engineer, literally everything used is named under the code names under coding and do specifically the same things. You get the same reactions etc. But the only people that can take advantage are people willing to take hours upon hours to learn. MNR couldn't allow the same level of creation and was extremely limited in comparison because it tried to make creation simple for the creators. Mario Maker simple, some did make amazing stages. But most became generic stages because the games ability to assist makes the stages all feel too similar. The stages in Road Trip by the devs were great and a good bit on the actual servers were. But barely enough. Yes you'll have alot more buyers, but that will create the same issue as MM, and you'll have millions of trash stages. LBP3 at this point is mostly amazing stages if you look up only LBP3 stages because that got to a point where only dedicated engineers and big fans were making stages. MK will be a MNR doing that. Unless they go the route of LBPK where creation is extreme. Remember a 2D plain and they still haven't even allowed you to make slants in the hills lol. I wouldn't bet on MK maker being as great as you think. It's a better sounding idea than it actually is

No Mario Kart 9 on Switch would be the dumbest move Nintendo has ever made

Sirk7x2095d ago (Edited 2095d ago )

I think they expect Mario Kart 8 to sell very well for a long time, and it probably will. It's one of the titles that almost anyone who buys a Switch will purchase. If anything, Mario Kart 9 will probably come at the very end of the gen, and have a double platform release for the Switch and as a launch title for whatever the next console may be.

You can’t skip the Switch and make out it’s because we have a MK8 super port

It’ll come.

Sgt_Slaughter2095d ago

If we got a new ACTUAL Mario Party, we're definitely getting MK9. Hopefully a sequel to Strikers/Sluggers as well.

BadElf2095d ago

I think Switch is the perfect time to have Mario Kart Double Dash 2

gangsta_red2095d ago

I would get a Switch the next day if this was announced.

Segata2095d ago

I like your idea except I want to make one small change. No Double Dash ever again.

Teflon022095d ago

Double Dash is the worse console MK imo... actually worse mario kart period as the handheld games were always great. I'd rather they keep it similar to how it is now, but bring it back a bit, like allow players who aren't good to have control like MK64 or something instead of the crappy control you have now when not drifting. It makes it harder for the less experienced. For the more experienced it's fine but they need to open back up the bottom end because people like my sis aren't big gamers and can play older games and some of the older ones but the newer mk games make turning without drifting pretty crap now. Before it was trade speed for good turning, now it's trade bad turning for better turning, speed etc. It's not good for them, double dash was the beginning of this issue imo. I've always been elite so I ain't bothered in my play. But it's easier to get my sis to play modnation than it is new mk games

Review - Sticky Business (Switch) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "The Switch version of Sticky Business is less of a game, and more of a very clunky and shallow creative tool with not a lot to entice players for long. The progression system is silly, the gameplay loop lacks any kind of excitemente, and the controls and interface are embarassingly bad, never taking advantage of the Switch’s touchscreen, or even giving us the bare minimum of a completely cursor-based interface. There’s just no sense of accomplishment while playing it. It’s just downright frustrating. If you really want to play Sticky Business, and come up with your sticker empire of sorts (hey, I’m not judging), just stick to the PC version."
