GB: "I still think there is one thing that no one has found yet that I know for certain, because I haven’t seen any stories about it."
I think I already discovered it Go back to Joutenheim, to the wall with the mantke that covera the fate of Kratos and Atreus. Kratos will looks at it again and will have a vision of the future. Won’t spoil the rest
Ha ha...I don't think so. Plenty of us have already had that :) Its been on Reddit in several places and the devs would have known it was discovered. He seems to hint people have reached the right location or the right combination to unlock whatever it is but no one has achieved it.
I think it was the spoiler cast with Kinda Funny Games, Cory said there is a very obvious clue as to who Atreus is and no one has found it yet. That could be what he is talking about here
But the game openly tells you who Atreus really is. Its part of the story progression, not some hidden secret. I surmised correctly before I started the game who he was. When you get to Jotunheim its directly revealed as part of the game story.
I know it's directly revealed when you get to Jotunheim. But there are hints along the way. Cory said in the Kinda Funna Spoiler cast there was something very obvious no one had found at the beginning of the game. That video was a while ago now though
Atreus is either the father of the world serpent Or IS the world serpent and has travelled back thru time due to the fracture in the realms during his fight with thor
I think atreus is the father of the world serpent Or IS the world serpent and has travelled back thru time dur to a fracture in the realms during his fight with thor
The world serpent is what was thrown back in time. Likely due to what you see in the mural in jotunheim.
All right I'll go ahead and tell you then, Kratos was hiding out in the woods with his son because he was keeping low key. Low Key 😎 Loki
It won't let me travel back to Jotunheim?
Want to know so bad!!!
Play the game again and find out.
It's one of those, how will I know it when I see it.
God of War begs to be explored. There is so much to discover whether it be unique artwork, secret bosses, secret areas, or loot.
"secret bosses" good one
Aight lads you heard him let's get it CHARGE!!!!
Zeus is back?
You are told about him in a succinct manner while in Helheim. I do not see it being that. I was hoping it would pertain to his wife.
Games like this are truly the reason I still game, excellent gameplay, story’s,graphics and hidden secrets .
And no loot boxes
Yeah that’s always a plus on score for me these days
Can’t stress that enough
2 EA executives down voted you
Agreed. Great game and, even more, franchise renovation.
kratus lost his memory about his first family
Pretty sure its.... Tyr=Kratos
I agree 100%. It would make complete sense that Kratos is the traveling Giant. Especially when he first opens up the door and gets the, "I thought you would be bigger" comment.
Baldur was talking about Kratos’ wife when he said that. She was the rebel giant he was looking for. This is not the rebel giant you are looking for *waves hand*
explain your theory
They bent and broke Norse Mythology left and right. But Tyr was known as The One-Handed God for one of the most central moments in Norse Mythology that directly bears on Ragnarok and that is the binding of Fenrisulfr. Also this carries with it that Kratos is completely unaware of his own secret chamber and that Mimir, Brok, and Sindri who knew Tyr now suddenly do not know him.
I think they could prob pull it off with Kratos being Tyr. I think it is more likely that Atreus/Loki is actually Tyr and the God of War title is referring to him.
If Atreus is Loki, he cannot also be Tyr.
And of course he is Loki.
let me reiterate.... Tyr is Kratos. Don’t believe me? Go look at the story cabinet showing a back story of Tyr. PAY attention on how tyr looks... Why was there a krato’s labeled bottle of wine in Tyr’s vault? Funny how the WINE was from his own home village in Greece. Coincidence, I think not. Why did he break the vase with his picture in his vault? Why is Tyr missing? Odin HATES Tyr. Odin doesn’t understand Tyr Tyr has an Axe... Tyr is norse god of war Also keep in mind - Tyr travels though different lands and- .... ..... Time. End of God of War 3 has alot of missing story. If Kratos gets his hand cut off in next game, its 10000% confirmed.
The events where Tyr loses his hand have already taken place. A very very long time ago. I get there are a lot of coincidences. But if they ignore that central fact then they have really thrown Norse Mythology out the window far far worse than they already have. Its part of my heritage and I have some 100 or so books on Norse mythology and Scandinavian history. The binding of Fenrisulfr, a son of Loki and brother to Jormangandr and Hel - who are also son and daughter of Loki - is a very important event and Fenrir plays one of the most important roles in Ragnarok. Yes it is obvious they have not only convoluted stories but timelines as well. I am not saying the Tyr/Kratos connection isn't possible in their world but a lot has to be explained regarding times shifts already. The only thing that does explain it is that Ragnarok has already occurred once and it did not go as planned for in that incident most of the gods die including Odin who is killed by Fenrisulfr and Thor who is killed by Jormangandr. That doesn't explain the results of the binding incident and of course Mimir would have been aware of this. At the end of the game they are entering what is possibly Fimbulvetr, which is the 3 years of snow that occurs before Ragnarok. Or it could just be a bad winter, as Fimbulvetr was at one time a colloquialism for bad winters. Bad snows were often mistaken for this event. It also doesn't explain why Kratos, if he were Tyr is not recognizable by Mimir, Brok, Sindri, or Freya, particularly if he still looks like Tyr. Regarding the wine you have to ask yourself if Tyr visited the village of Kratos because he wanted to see Kratos with his own eyes. He need his strength to defeat Odin and actually engineered his coming in the north, possibly with the help of Kratos' wife.
As much as GoW talked about Tyr and how Atreus wanted them to be "good" gods regardless of actual Norse mythology one of them is going to be Tyr.
@omega if tyr was Kratos, the wine would have been from where he was born, not near where he was born. Odin doesnt even know who Kratos is. he sent Baldur after Faye, and he was tracking them via her ashes. also Tyr is long dead, and was a man of peace, something kratos is only now beginning to show. and while time travel could be used to help your theory, its more likely that KRatos is the World serpent, dutring his last moment (probably fighting Thor) he is fataly struck and Atreus most likely turns him into the world serpent to save his life, and in doing so is struck by Thor and sent back in time. as for the who calls upon the serpent when Atreus is sick, i believe that may be either Atreus/loki of the future calling it to keep thor and baldur distracted while he knows his younger self is very vulnerable, as well as the fact that Kratos has to travel on his own. At the end of the day, God of war is a story about Atrues, thats all i can think of at the moment
The fact that Jormungandr (The Midgard or World Serpent) is looking after a young Loki makes sense - the adult Loki with the giantess Angrboda will father and conceive Jormungander. Then again that's Norse mythology, not the GOW version.
This is my theory. Tyr had been watching kratos for a long time, he visited where he was from, he needed to know everything about this being that could kill a god. He knew that if he kratos succeeded in killing Zeus then he would have found his perfect warrior to take on ODIN. I believe he was their the whole time GOW3 episode was going on. At the end where kratos attempts to kills himself and after the credits the body is dragged away, it was Tyr that took him from there. And sought help from faye who nursed him to health, obviously one thing led to another and they fell in love. My other theory connecting to the previous theory is that the journey kratos took was a purposeful one set up by Faye to test kratos abilities, and when at the end he is spreading ashes that was a confirmation from to the remaining alive Giants that your champion is ready to take on ODIN.
@snake-00, That first part is a theory I wholly support and touched on some of it in a previous post. Great remark.
If you watch all the stuff SSM released about the Mythology before the release of the game it talks about the history of the Vanir, Aesir war, all the major gods and giants, etc., etc. It talks about Odin learning Seidr magic from Freya and his paranoia about Ragnarok, etc. It tells of him banishing Freya and how her only hope is an outsider will come to restore balance. All major gods and goddesses were discussed EXCEPT Loki. Well, we know why now. But my point is Freya would know Tyr and she was married to Odin so I don't think Kratos can be either one. Yes, there are time travel scenarios going on here and everything is convoluted but I think Kratos is just Kratos. Atreus being Loki is the big deal. As far as the hidden secret I'm not sure. Maybe there is more info about Faye we're missing. We need a good timeline laid out. For instance we all know now the yellow path markings were put there by Faye and that she did that at some point in time. Well, during the fight with "The Stranger" the two gods face off and the whole ground splits apart from their strength. When the fight is over you take that "new" path out of Wildwoods. There are yellow markings in the newly formed rift. How in hel, or when in hel, did Faye make those marks? The marks would have to be made after the rift was formed, right? But all indications when they reach Jotenheim are that these events already happened. The time differential stuff really makes things difficult to pin down.
At the mountain summit if you spell the word "BOY" in the snow Kratos shouts "BOOOOOYYYYYY!!!" and the entire mountain collapses.
Its just the secret of the main menu, where Atreus is sleeping ? Something happens there.....im sure....
Yea i was kinda curious about that too. Odd place to be uh...sleeping?
There is a cave somewhere in the River Pass where you get one of the artifacts in shallow water. The walls surrounding that collected water has signs all over it. I think it holds some secret.
That was exactly what I was thinking.
A dead titan in Joutenhiem, maybe? Couldnt be too hard to blend Cronos's body in with dead giants, and brown mountains.
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the big ass boulder you drop on Baldur in the first fight. It has a scene carved on it. To me part of it looks like it depicts the final battle but there seems to be more to it. Can't figure it out.
That's been talked about already.
Yes, it appears to have part of the same mural you see at the end with the rest faded away. I wonder if Faye made it so close to home.
Oh damn, it's the missing piece of the mural, the opening you walk through to get to the top of the mountain. Got it.
Wow I loved God Of War’s story and lore. This gets me excited
Here is my question. Why is Freye's tattoo's sometimes light and other times dark? I theorise that it might have something to do with her power and emotions but it could also mean absolutely nothing.
i explored every cm of the game and 100% the game so, unless it's something like the brok/sindri treasure i think i discovered everything
There's an Odin Hidden Chamber in Wildwoods. I saw a locked gate with a stairway behind it but can't unlock the gate. Maybe this it?
Alright internet, time to hunt!!!
I have found it,but not telling you,it's a secret.
i also have trumps pee pee tape....
I think it has to be something that Serpent tells to Atreus when you meet him for the very first time
the world serpent recognizes Atreus, which is what confirms early in the game that he is loki. although alluded to.
How will we know we've found it?
Please let it be one of those secret sex scene...
I know what it is but I don't want to spoil. I will say it's family related.
dm me please with it, i wanna see if my theory is correct
This is not comeback Joutenheim,is other thing, the people is too bad informated.
