busygalblogs.com writes... Last night I can across a game in the PS4 store, I decided it looked creepy so my husband bought it for me. Once I started playing the game I soon realised this was the scariest PS4 game I’ve ever played!
With Layers of Fear, Bloober Team reworks their previous horror releases into a single package that’s worth revisiting and getting spooked over again.
This is the definitive version of the game and it brings all the previous Layers of Fear content together in a cohesive whole.
GB: "Even in a year as excellent for gaming as 2023 has been, there have been more than a few disappointing releases."
Greyhill Incident had potential but got slammed. I’ll still try it, but on sale or GamePass. Someday.
meh.. Layers of Fear was basically a walking simulator with some creepy moments. But since there were no actual characters in the game and it was all about self discovery as to the events that unfolded, it was a little bit of a let down. The graphics and mood were awesome though, but I would choose Amnesia or Outlast over this as to which game is actually scarier.
I would love to see more games like these. If anyone has any suggestions I would be greatfull. I've got inheritance after this then I will be just waiting around on little nightmares new dlc
Guarantee resi 7 VR (or pretty much any VR horror) is way worse. VR takes horror to a whole new level.
Layers of fear was a cool game. But the scares become repetitive and predictable.
I enjoyed entering a room turning around and the room was a mess, or chairs being thrown around as you approch them.
Outlast was another cool horror game but I didn't find it scary. I got used to the jump scares really early on. The worst bits of outlast was where you had a large open area and had to do small tasks while Chris Walker would patrol the corridors. You do that a few too many times.
If you liked Layers of Fear, you really should check out Observer. Same company. As much as I liked Layers of Fear and it's dlc, I liked Observer even more.
