Hitman gets a Game of the Year Upgrade of The Complete First Season. GOTY Edition also available

Carlos writes: "Whilst we may be unsure on the future of the popular Hitman series, one thing we know for sure is that the episodic venture was darn brilliant. This is the definition of a greedy developer. I support them from the start buy buying each mission as it was released, So by the end i owed the complete season. Then on top of that i had to buy the bonus mission that were set in places i already owned. And now on top of all that what i bought and own they expect me to pay another £15 for another new mission also set in the places i own, and a few stupid skins. Well Fuck you and your extra £15. Now if it was £4.99 for the extra mission maybe. But Square did a good thing dropping you greedy bastards.

That experimental, often divisive, entry turned out to be pivotal in what would follow.

Elements of Absolution, such as its accessibility and player-created content, would be mixed with the more traditional Hitman games’ sense of murderous creativity to birth the Hitman Trilogy 0f 2016-2021. A series that would take its creators on a turbulent journey of publisher changes, independence, and the eventual triumph of being handed the tantalizing 007 license."
