How come the pro was out over a year and the demand was low. Now that the X is releasing with high demand, all of a sudden we are hearing about demand for the pro.

Weird.

With two mid-cycle console refreshments out this holiday season, retailers will likely promote advantages and disadvantages of both consoles compared to each other. In case of the the Xbox One X its it's superior hardware, and in the case of the Pro: it's lower price. I believe that the release of the XB1X could in turn also benefit Ps4 Pro sales.

Bigpappy2374d ago

I think that PS4 fans are giving the pro a second look because of all the interest the X is getting and there is a trickle down effect for 4K support on the X. Some developer now feel obligated to also do something for the pro.

I suppose the fact that PS4 has outsold xbox 2:1 is because of the interest xbone... get real.

@ Bigpappy

Does it mean that when PS5 is coming after couple of years then Xbox one X would be the go to system because it's cheap, runs 3 gen old games, runs 4th gen(MS 4th gen) games too, has all accessories ready to use from all gens and most of all its the cheapest/affordable for 4th gen (MS 4th gen)?

You just have selective memory. AMD has talked about the success of the PS4 and the Pro many times.

It had plenty of demand. They said 1 in 5 sold was a Pro, 20% might not be a huge percentage, but when you consider how many PS4s are still being sold today, that's a substantial number. Also "healthy" is a pretty modest word choice to describe demand, lol. Just because Playstation has completely dominated your favorite console this gen, doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the games that you like. No reason to be bitter bud.

I only know 1 friend with a ps4 pro and everybody else doesn't think it's worth it but they do think the 1x is after seeing comparison videos.

On topic AMD is correct I see the pro and 1x selling very well this holiday. I hope that both sides(ps and Xbox fans) see the good in owning both consoles. I see the 1x pushing graphics up so maybe I can finally see the full potential on my pc. My only question is how much will the next gen cost.

Why own 2 consoles ? I rather spend those 500€ on even more PS4 /PSVR games
Tomorrow I will play Wolfenstein 2 as an example ;)

Embracer CEO demonstrates a masterclass in mental gymnastics in latest interview.

Turned based Phantasy Star and Shinning Force remain at the top of my list of Sega IPs that need to return. At the very least I'd take a Shining Force collection that has 1,2,3, CD and the Game Gear entries.

FinalBoss5d ago

I was hesitant to put these two on. I've personally played more PSO than the RPG version. And shame on me, I don't remember much about Shining Force to talk about it properly.

That said, so many Sega licences deserve their place in this list.

jznrpg3d ago

A new Phantasy Star in the numbered series would be amazing. Shining Force too. But I’d settle on some collections as that’s probably the best we will get

anast5d ago

I don't trust Sega to do a proper comeback. The games will be just remastered and/or monetized to death.

shining force.

but indont see that happening unfortunately.
