Though few games manage to encapsulate the atmosphere and overarching qualities of the late author’s oeuvre, Alessandro Guzzo’s The Land of Pain makes an admirable attempt.
COGconnected - The Land of Pain, an indie horror title from Alesandro Guzzo, is a familiar place that many will be happy (and horrified) to return to.
HPP's Mike Vito writes "The Land of Pain is the most beautiful game I’ve ever laid eyes on, and what’s even more amazing is that it’s coming from an indie developer. Not a team of devs - one single developer."
From GameWatcher: "Ever wonder why so many horror titles just plant you in the middle of nowhere with no recollection as to how it all happened? The Land of Pain does just that - but at least it gives you an idea of where you are in the title alone.
Demonstrated by a strikingly dark teaser trailer published shortly after Valentine's Day last month, you're thrown into the woods well aware that there's something hiding behind its copious amount of foliage."
