Personally, i prefer that Nintendo does what they've usually been doing lately, quick fire of games that are coming to their platforms to build interest, then though out multiple days they play the game in depth at the Nintendo Treehouse events.

This allows the viewers to get a fell of how the upcoming games will be beyond some pre rendered trailer, or some scripted gameplay. Sure at times it's a bit awkward when they players aren't that good, but that kind adds to the enjoyment when you see real people playing a new game for the first couple times.

Also I feel like all the devs will be mostly playing it safe as they all have done, Sony will probably have a montage, an exec come on stage explaining what the Playstation brand means to them and how important their fans are to them, then they'll show some trailers, gameplay, announcements, and maybe get some execs from 3rd party companies to show off their new games. Nothing particularly dangerous or out of left field.

Same with MS, except this time they have Scorpio which they'll probably be either be eager to show right out the gate expressing how the horsepower helps gaming. Or they'll wait till the last 10 minutes of the conference to reveal it, along with a price, a release date, and a gameplay of the next Halo being shown running on it.

Let's hope Nintendo deliver at E3, the switch is in a great place at the minute. Mario is a given can't wait for that, but I really hope they have some other amazing surprises:)

Nintendo is E3 safe incarnate. Has been for years at least.

Preyty sure they only showed one game last year, and showed almost nothing people wanted the year before, not my Definition of Safe. What does a "safe" e3 even mean? If you have a lot of games to show that people want isn't that the safest move of all? Why would you want a not safe E3.

That one game was Zelda. It was safe because the vast majority of Nintendo fanboys are Zelda fanboys. You or I might see that as a dud but the fanbase was satisfied. "Oh they only showed one game? Who cares it was Zelda." Safe is not throwing out risky moves. Like throwing the Kinect out was not a "safe" move by Microsoft. It was risky and it ultimately failed. Psvr wasn't "safe" as another example. It's an unknown market unlike a safer bet like Zelda.

If they are then they've apparently been playing it safe for years.

No but I admit I am slightly biased after their abysmally bad Live Switch Presentation I would prefer they have pre recorded conferences.
