Rough is the understatement of the year to describe Fallout 4...And that's even with the mods available now... Disappointment.

KingAlistair2710d ago (Edited 2710d ago )

Fallout 4 mods were available since the game came out...there are more than 15.000 mods as of right now at nexus alone, but i consider the game mediocre to average at best.

nX2710d ago

Fallout 4 actually was a technically stable game. It was just not as good as Fallout 3 or Skyrim.

KingAlistair2710d ago (Edited 2710d ago )

@nX Fallout 4 is technically really Subpar.Considering the other two games,i would rate fallout 4 a 6,skyrim 5.5 and fallout 3 a 7.

Movefasta19932710d ago

mods available NOW???NOW they are available?what? They were available a while back dude.

UnHoly_One2710d ago

Fallout 4 was awesome. I don't care what anyone says.

MyDietEqualsGames2710d ago

I liked it a lot but it got too repetitive and felt a. It more hallow when compared to the likes of new vegas and even with dlc, compare it to say, old world blues, a dlc that took place inside a secluded sandbox, still managed to be good.

MVGeneral2710d ago

I don't know what the hate is. But I loved fallout 4 on the ps4.
I platinum the game and only had 1 glitch issue. Other than that smooth sailing. And I like the game play.

Bla bla bla... Lets see what you can do, dear Bethesda. Stop talking, make things.

KaiPow2711d ago

Fingers crossed this means migrating from the GameBryo engine.

IamTylerDurden12710d ago

Gamebryo has been used since Morrowind.

Helios862710d ago

Hence why they should get rid of that crap. The same bugs have been persisting since Morrowind aswell.

ccgr2711d ago

Looking forward to stable new games and not re-releases

letsgopal2710d ago

ditching the engine would equal to ditching a larger part of modding capabilities.

MyDietEqualsGames2710d ago

They can build on a new engine and still have the same design philosophy with regards to mods and ease of use or creation.

Fallout 4's 'next gen' update is over 14 gigs, breaks modded saves, & doesn't change much at all

We were expecting problems with mod support, but there are a lot of other issues.

isarai9h ago

Wow what the actual hell 🤣🤣🤣

just_looken9h ago

This is why you get the GOG version on gog you can select the version of the game to download.

On pc fallout 4 fallout new vegas and skyrim are all broken on steam because they all got the same "next gen" update.

Skyrim dec 2023
https://www.pcgamer.com/sky...

Can not find new vegas but anyone that modded it knows the script extender there was also broken

Valkyrye7h ago

Not accidental, they want modders to stop modding their older games to force them to mod Shitfield.

just_looken5h ago

There doing the same on starfield with a mods store and blocking mods

There goal is like blizzard and what they did with fallout 76 you make mods they can sell and you become a slave.

On skyrim they have "trusted" mod devs now basically a badge that lets your mod on the store you get a crumb of the sale when someone buys it.

Inverno4h ago

lol to the disagrees, the last Skyrim update broke mods too. They've been trying to kill mods to monetize them in creation club for years, it's not a stretch that they purposely put out patches just to break free mods.

porkChop2h ago

The disagrees are from people who have common sense. They aren't trying to kill mods. Most mods for any game will break with a new update because they rely on files/code that have been changed. This isn't new. Even with Bethesda this would happen way before the creation club. Mod support is literally one of the things that got Bethesda to where they are, and they're one of the only devs that releases comprehensive mod tools for each of their games.

Chocoburger3h ago

Over 14 GBs and doesn't change much at all? What? Taking up that much drive space for a pathetic 'remastering' is shameful.

Par for Bethesda.

Aussiesummer2h ago

It's not a remaster, it's a next gen update.

badz1492h ago

LOL people are actually expecting massive improvements or something? From Bethesda?? the same people who released Skyrim multiple times and the all look like shit? THAT Bethesda? are people for real?

Profchaos1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

The ps5 version doesn't change a ton but from my small playtime it's enough to make me want to replay it just to have it running at 60.

A side note to this my PS4 version no longer boots after it's "update" so I guess that's what it feels like to own a Bethesda game on PC

Bethesda Looking Into PlayStation Plus Subscribers Not Being Able to Upgrade Fallout 4

Bethesda Customer Support Manager confirmed they're looking into Fallout 4 not being offered to those who redeemed via PlayStation Plus for free.

Why would anyone downvote this? Don't be silly. This is great news. Thanks for sharing, darthv72.

MWeaver5898h ago

I think it's because the main question for many was whether or not the PlayStation Plus Collection version would support the upgrade. To me it seems obvious the PlayStation Plus Extra version would, though it is nice to see confirmation it will.

That said, Bethesda highlighting the PlayStation Plus Extra version low-key confirms they do not plan on upgrading the other version given to players. Naturally some people are pissed, as even the in-game phrasing says "free for all players."

VenomUK7h ago

@MWeaver589 Exactly this point, it was advertised as free for everyone.

VincentVanBro6h ago(Edited 6h ago)

It’s just a lame solution to the problem, even if it is a solution. The comment shouldn’t be downvoted though.

Christopher6h ago

I mean, it's at least something. It's 'good' news compared to the alternative. Not darth's fault even.

Also, I highly believe this will get fixed. PR nightmare if they don't since the PS store doesn't differentiate/have different text for those with or without the PS+/PS Collection version.

Even though I claimed the PS Plus version, I still have my physical GOTY PS4 edition and was able to get my PS5 upgrade a little earlier today. Physical media FTW lol. Hopefully it won't be too long before the PS Plus owners also get to upgrade their copies.

JackBNimble6h ago

My digital version works just fine , what's your point?

raWfodog6h ago

My point is that even though I claimed the digital version via my PS+ Essential sub, I was still able to upgrade to the PS5 version using my PS4 GOTY physical version that I bought years ago. Otherwise I would have had to wait for the fix to be released, however long that will take. Isn’t that what the article was about?

JackBNimble1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

No, you claimed an upgrade that everyone with the physical or digital license can other then ps+ extra .
And what you hold is nothing more then a physical license.

And the article is talking about people with ps+extra who didn't own the game previously to it going on ps+ .

I bought the game years ago to ... digitally, my whole point was to your statement " physical media Ftw" . So what does physical have to do with anything?

blacktiger4h ago

I expect this and also no releasing on next ps console. Pretty simple. Please don't be suprise
